Tea Party on the Outdoor Deck

The kids came over for us to babysit cause their mom had a photography engagement. When they arrived, I asked if they wanted to have a tea party. Well, I always know the answer to that, lol.
This was an impromptu tea party so I just gathered whatever I could in a jiff and brought them out.

The weather in Florida is just getting pleasant so I decided to have the tea on the outdoor deck.
Of course my granddaughter Reese, is always the most excited when it comes to a tea party.

We even got John to join us.

We had English strawberry vanilla tea. It was the kids' choice. They all love it.

I gave the green cup for John to use and as I was pouring the tea, he stopped me and said there is something black inside the cup. I told him not to worry, that it's a bee and it's part of the design, lol.
 We had scottie shortbread,

 We also had choco wafers.
Reese is always so dainty with her fingers when drinking tea.

Do you see our pool enclosure in the background? Our big shade tree fell on it during Hurricane Irma and half of it came down. It was a total mess! We haven't been able to get it repaired because no screen can be found anywhere, not even on line, except for a few that are inflated in prices so John and I decided to wait.

Guess who else came to join us-the kids' outdoor cat, Bobby.

See the leaning palm tree in the background? Another damage from Irma but it is still alive and we just have to prop it up. We have been so busy cause right now, our bathroom ceiling and roof above it is being repaired. Yep, another hurricane damage.

Our fig tree was uprooted and had to be taken out too.
The tea pot is by 222 Fifth

Here is a better view of the damaged screen. You should have seen it after the hurricane with the huge fallen tree above it with black pool water underneath. I felt so much better after the clean up. Luckily, the tree did not fall on the house.
Thanks again for stopping by. I also appreciate all the hostesses and these parties.

Impromptu tea parties are the best! Your grandkids are too cute...and growing up so quickly. I chuckled out loud when I read how John mistook the painted bee as real insect. Best of luck with the house repairs.

I so love seeing your grands enjoying a tea party with you, Christine. Even John joined in on the fun. I laughed about the bee being mistaken as a real bug in his cup!!
Best of luck with all your outside repairs that need done.

I'm so glad you are over with all the damage in your lovely garden. The children are so lucky to have such enthusiastic grandmamma, with cookies and all. Nice grandpa John could join too.
Wish I could join too.
Love the teapot with the birds, it's adorable.
I hope you get a chance to come by and visit.

What a delightful tea party - I would love to have such memories of my own grandmother! All the children look like they're having a marvelous time with you and your husband - and I just love the Scottie Scottish shortbread!

What a shame that you had such damage from the hurricane - but, how fortunate you were safe and didn't lose more. Your pool screen reminds me of the lovely Victorian garden 'follies' that were so popular!

I found your blog via Beverly's Pink Saturday - thanks for sharing your tea party photos
