My contribution for Debbiedoos' copycat challenge is very simple. I just got back from FL for my 3 grandbabies' christening and was not ready so I opened my Charles Faudree Details book and scanned it very quickly and found something I know I can do in a jiffy. And here it is!
This is my inspiration. It is frenchy though mine is not. I love that chest of drawers and the mirror!
I did not have the right lamps but I have these matching ones sitting on the mantel in the living room. I think they're ok since my dresser top is smaller.
I have a lot of boxes spread all over the house, another one of my obsessions that I have been collecting over the years, so I just picked 3 to copy the picture.
I could not see the details of what was on top of the top chest in the inspiration picture and so as you can see, I tried 3 different positions of the birds. Which do you like better?
This dresser is in our guest room designated for grandkids when they visit, but it is usually decorated more child friendly.
But I can leave this here for a while since our next guests are adults and they will most probably stay in the other 2 guest rooms.
I found this antique empire dresser from an antique shop downtown and immediately went home and dragged hubby there to see it and to buy it for me. I love those glass knobs and its excellent shape.
Did I pass?
Thanks Debbie for hosting a fun party. And thank you all for stopping by.

LOVE the vignette on your dresser, Christine. Nice copycat!
ReplyDeleteYou have some of the nicest pieces of furniture, Christine, and this dresser is one of them! Your selection of boxes is pretty, as well- I like the little white birds accenting them the best. Glad it was a nice baptism ceremony for the babies.
