Girls' Night Out Challenge

I wasn't really going to join Kathleen's challenge because I am extremely busy. Only one week and counting , we are moving and I am not done packing.  My son and other imported movers are arriving as early as this Saturday and we are loading a trailer this weekend and the truck next Wed.
But anyway, as I packed, I saw these Princess House "Pavillion" dinner plates, about to be put in the plastic bin. But wait, I can use these! John was organizing in the garage and needed my help. While assisting him, I saw these strictly feminine salad plates. Aaaah, it's all coming together. And yesterday, I took down 2 busts from the shelves to be packed, so why not use them?
I took a vase from the foyer and filled it with jasmines that are blooming and climbing the arbor outside, and stuck them in the vase. Hmmm, they smell heavenly! All my napkin rings are all packed away so no rings this time. Same thing with salt and pepper shakers, all packed away too except for the ugly ones my hubby uses everyday and the table is supposed to be pretty, (It's for girls, remember?),  so I did not use them.

The flatware sets are not packed yet. They are easy, will just throw them in  boxes, unlike plates that I wrap very well, so I will do them last.
Most of the stemware are packed away but I was able to find these to use.

Aren't the faces on my busts just sweet?

Luckily, I still had these glass greenish plate chargers still out so I got to use them.

Sorry about the box at the end by the wall. I did not realize it was there until I saw this picture.
And there it is! I hope you like it. I think it passed the femininity test.

Thanks for stopping by. Now, let's go over at Kathleen's at http://www.cuisinekathleen.com/and look at the other tables.

Another Impromptu Dinner Get Together

2 Impromptu get togethers in one day is pretty exhausting but fun nonetheless. And we thought we were only going to church last Sunday! But, after mass, John and I saw our friends and as we congregated outside the church, we got to inviting one another for lunch at  a hibachi reataurant. And so we did! But that was not the end of it.

While eating, we were planned about having dinner that night at home and so we did!
I had to pick plates that were easily accessible in the dining room, especially because at least 75 % of my dinnerware sets are all packed away for the move. But I managed to get this together in such a short time.
I thought yellow is kinda springy even if my table cloth is fallish. But 80% of my table linens are are boxed up too.
I just used the vase and flowers that were already on the table and just added a pair of white candelabra

Everybody brought a dish but I cooked a mussels dish. We also had barbecued pork chops and pancit, a Filipino noodle dish.

And I made bananas foster for dessert. Yummy!
For a dinner with no planning, it was a huge success and a lot of fun. Look at these happy faces! We had 9 people including kids so I added an extra chair at the end, actually swapped the big arm chair with  2 smaller chairs from the kitchen.
and the guys were happy too! Sorry about hubby's shirt. I don't iron, lol, and he loves to wear cotton ones.
Thank you for visit and thanks so much to the hostesses for the ever going fun parties!

A Spring Bunny Table

I was about to pack these bunny dishes away in preparation for our first big move in May, but I saw a box of bunny accessories in the garage so I thought I would set another table before packing them. I am so overwhelmed with the work. I just cannot finish boxing up the dishes. There is just so much! And this is after I gave a lot away and sold a pretty good number too.
Can you believe we were given an estimate of $22,000 by a moving company for them to move our belongings? And this is after I did the packing myself. So, we decided to just move ourselves with friends' and family's help.
I will mostly just show you pictures so that I can go back to my packing, lol.

Bordallo Pinheiro bunny plates.
Bought these on clearance from Sur La Table last year. I finally got to use them. I know, I know.....I have to stop buying plates.

Doesn't it look like there is a ghost on top of the fireplace? It's the TV.
The table might be pretty but it is not pretty on the other side, lol. That is where I do all my packing.

It's been almost a year since my granddaughter Rea was diagnosed with neuroblastoma and I just want you to know that she is doing very well. She has been on remission for more than 120 days now and her hair has started to grow. I would again like to thank everyone who prayed and is still praying for her.

Thank you so much for stopping by and I appreciate the hostesses
very much. It is so much fun to join them in spite of how busy I am.
