Today is Sunday and it's time to show off an oldie but goodie post. One of my favorites of course, is my "Plates" post which was originally posted for Wordless Wed. but now I can add words since it's not's Wed. anymore. But before we get into that, I would like to remind you to please do not forget to visit Chari at http://happytodesign.blogspot.com/, who is hosting this fun meme, visit her blog and check out what she's showing us again and all the others who are participating. I've also bought more plates so I am contributing those pics for Sunday Shopping Secrets hosted by Anita at http://bridalblooms4u.blogspot.com/. Don't forget to visit these phenomenal ladies and have fun reading their blogs.
These are Spode Shima plates and I bought a set of 8 servings from Horchow. They were on sale plus an additional $30% off that day so I got them very reasonably.

All these I got from Ebay.
I even have dishes stored in drawers. DH said we have to add a room solely dedicated to all our dishes.
And as I said this post was originally posted for Wordless Wed. on my special day, my birthday, April 29th.
What a coincidence. Today is my birthday and Dixie picked my favorite theme for Wordless Wednesday....PLATES! That's a real treat for me since plates are my favorite items. Yes, I am a dishaholic! I am glad this is wordless cause I don't have much time to talk but I'll just say one more thing. What I am showing you are my plates as they are stored at home.
Please visit Dixie at http://frenchlique.blogspot.com/ and see what everybody else is posting today. It should be a lot of fun. Thanks Dixie for this special treat!

Christine forgive me... I thought I came over yesterday and visited a while... I was horrified when I didn't recognize the post and realized I didn't visit! :-(
ReplyDeleteI love all of your plates! Wow and belated Happy Birthday! How did you celebrate it? Did you have a big slice of cake? Did you leave me a slice? ;-)
I have some great pics for Saturday so just count me in, ok?
Here's a big belated HUG for ya my dear friend!
Happy Belated Birthday, Christine! I'm sorry I didn't make it to comment on Tuesday! HAPPY BIRTHDAY! And those plates? WOWZA! Now that's a collection if I've ever seen one! :)
ReplyDeleteHappy Belated Birthday to you!
ReplyDeleteHappy Belated Birthday to you!
Happy Belated Birthday, Dear Christine!
Happy Belated Birthday to YOU!
Hope it was wonderful, and LOVE your plates!
XO,
Sheila :-)
Happy Belated Birthday Christine! Wow, I'm so in awe of all your beautiful dishes. Oops! Sorry, I had to wipe the drool off my keyboard!
ReplyDeleteFantastic repost!!! ☺♥☺ Diane
WOW! You DO have a lot of dishes!! I love the new edition to your collection...very pretty!! :-) Love ya! L~
ReplyDeleteChristine, I think you have more plates than anyone I know. Happy collecting.
ReplyDeleteLove all your dishes, Christine. The Spode Shima reminds me of Noritake Far East. Lovely set!
ReplyDeleteWhen does your store open?
ReplyDeleteGood grief there is no room in house for the food to put on those plates. You may have the mug bug. The dishware disease. The cup croup. The bowl mole. I don't know what it is but I don't think there is a cure.
Christine, you have so many wonderful storage spots for your beautiful dishes. (But it does look like if you find any more, you will have to have a dish room-just like the White House!). laurie
ReplyDeleteWow, wow, wow, wow, WOW!!! That's A LOT of china. Are any of them Haviland? I thought maybe I spied a set of Haviland in the middle there somewhere - - -
ReplyDeleteYep!!!! I KNEW that was Haviland. It reminds me of some Haviland I have, only my pattern is blue instead of brown.
ReplyDeleteOne day I'm going to get my parent's entire set of Haviland, and it is even prettier than what I already have.
Holy dishaholic!!! Girl u got it badddd for those (LLOL) Thanks for the tour though it was fun peeking in;) Hugs French xoxo
ReplyDeleteMornin' Girlfriend...
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad that you joined in with the fun of Sunday Favorites this week!!! What a great post to share once again....
Girl, I remember when you posted this! I think I just sat at the computer in "awe" of all your beautiful dishes!!! What an amazing collection!!! I love your new set from Horchows. I looked at them when they were doing their big sale a couple of weeks ago...so pretty!!! Okay...I think John is absolutely right...after the pool...ya'll should build a room just for all of your dishes...hehe!!! Sooo funny!!!
Have a great week, Sweetie!
Love ya,
Chari
Hey Christine!
ReplyDeleteOh, it's been such fun catching up with you....Your plate collection is amazing...I love the ebay tea set, and If I had to pick a fav from your plate collections,(it's a hard one, but) I'd say that it would be those square floral plates with the green trim...all of your collections are beautiful though. Girl, I don't think you will ever run out of pretty tablescapes to create! I look forward to seeing more of your creativity...I always love seeing what you do!
That's a great transformation that you made in your wet bar area...isn't it funny how buying that wire shelf changed the whole feel of the area. It looks great and gives you extra space too.
Thanks so much of stopping over for lemonade on the porch...thank you for your sweet compliments too! I love your back porch area...it makes such a pretty header on your blog too!
Hope you have a great day!
Big Hug,
Queenie~
