Today, I am joining the Tablescaper for Seasonal Sundays at http://thetablescaper.blogspot.com/
This was an old post from 2 years ago. My, how time flies! AJ was so much smaller then and I weighed a lot less, lol.
But before we start the trip, let's flaunt our pinks first. Pink Saturday is hosted by Beverly at http://howsweetthesound.typepad.com/my_weblog/. Please visit her and all her participants. You will be happy to see all the wonderful pinks.
For my contribution, I would like to share more pink flowers on our deck and garden. Here is an orchid that I captured with an insect while I was gardening. I would have taken a closer pic but that little sucker tried to attack me. LOL!
a hanging planter with pink flowers hanging in the gazebo.
Another hanging planter on our porch, a clinbing mandevalia and a pink orchid below it.
And now, it's time to go sightseeing.
We are going to watch a football game in Ann Arbor, MI next week (actually we watched it last Sat. but I loaded these pics last week, sorry if I am confusing you) so I thought I will show you when we watched one a few years ago. You see, you can post old travel pictures on SS also. We drove around the city first and came across this Petting Farm and thought AJ would enjoy it. Here I am on a hay ride with her. We were both a few years younger here. That was fun!
Aren't those little houses cute?

They also had a maize maze. We went in there and had fun looking for each other.
Here is John and AJ feeding the ducks. Aren't those white ducks really cute with all those curly feathers?
Of course, we had to tour the buildings too. John was trying to reminisce his College years and was proudly showing us where he ate and slept and so on.
We attended the pep rally and watched the cheerleaders and dancers practice.

Dancers
We also watched the U of M marching band rehearse. John swears they are the best in the country.
And of course we had to follow them.
We followed them all the way to the Big House stadium.
to watch the football game but first, let's watch the marching band perform first.
and now the Wolverines are playing
No wonder they call it the Big House. It holds all these people.
Thanks to you all for coming again and thanks to our hostesses for being so gracious in throwing these events. Be sure you go and visit them.
But before we leave, we have to stay behind to watch the U of M Marching Band perform again. Please click the video to watch. I have to admit, they were pretty good.
I hope you enjoyed the tour. Thanks for coming and thanks also, Beverly for Pink Saturday.

Lovely passion flowers at your cloche party, too.
Last weekend as I watched part of the MI game, I saw a little girl & her daddy on the side line, and the little girl was holding up a sign that said, "My first game in the Big House" or something to that effect. The little girl reminded me of your daughter - - - it didn't, by chance, happen to BE your daughter, did it?

ReplyDeleteFun trip for ya, I'm sure, to have seen all that he used to do and see. Go Blue!

Awesome post. It was nice to see the marching band. MY son is in Band and come next year he has the opportunity to be in Marching band which is huge here. He is on the fence, big commitment, and the uniforms are hot.
ReplyDeleteHi Christine...
ReplyDeleteGirlfriend, I think I remember this post! It looks like ya'll had so much fun in MI. I giggled...at how much AJ has grown this past two years! Wow...they really do grow up fast...don't they? Hehe...we do too sometimes! wink! Ohhh well...life is meant to enjoy! Thank you so much for sharing your lovely trip with us, my friend...as well as those gorgeous pink orchids! Loved having you for Sunday Favorites this week!

What a fun looking trip Christine. You look beautiful and very happy. Love the precious houses too.
ReplyDeleteHappy fall blessings to you sweet friend!
Warmly, ~Melissa :)
Thanks for sharing this and thank you for visiting me.
ReplyDeleteChristine, are you sure that was just a year ago? AJ looks so young in these photos! I can't believe how much she has matured in a year. Of course, my favorite thing is the little houses- so cute! I want some in my garden!
ReplyDeleteYou asked about the chairs on my porch. They are rockers, and they are so comfortable. We have had them for about 10 years, and we are starting to worry that they are going to wear out. I know we won't be able to find rockers as comfortable as those again. laurie
Looks like a great way to spend the day! Your kids are so lucky...
ReplyDeleteHi Christine -- thanks for your visit. I actually do like sushi -- but not my husband -- he won't try it -- don't know why, the man eats raw oysters! Love the little houses - so cute. have fun at the game and take more photos!

ReplyDeleteDearest Christine,
ReplyDeleteMe oh my and mercy me!.., Likely t'is I who have unintentionally; 'made the mess'..,
I have been posting;(as I had offered earlier on Monday, you may perhaps recall Christine), to post a link later on for those who were wanting to post earlier than Tuesday, whereas we had not as yet had Mr. Linky available earlier this Monday..,
So sorry for the mix-up, as I was so tired with all of my busyness these days, that I accidentally posted one of the other tea ladie's requested link-up accicdentally twice; (I have yet to have success in removing an accidental double post with Mr. Linky)..,
Oh well!.., One day I'll get the hang of it!
So sorry for any inintended mix-up my friend!
This post is so intersesting by the way; thanks for sharing it with us!
Cheers and hugs from Wanda Lee
