Beverly is so kind to host Pink Saturday week after week after week and it is always so much fun to join. Today I want to show you pink flowers growing in our garden. So many plants are dead from the cold winter but I am beginning to see life. We have pool equipment in the back of the house, pool heater, pumps, pipes, etc and they are really an eye sore for me so I have been trying to figure out ways to conceal them. We placed some iron fence around but you can still see them so I bought iron baskets that are flat in the back and I planted different kinds of flowering plants in them and hang them along the fence. You can still see the pool equipment but your eyes are more drawn to the bright and pretty flowers now. We cannot really enclose the equipment completely because the pool guy has to have access to it every other week when he cleans the pool.
I think my favorite in the pots are the cyclamens.
I am not sure what these are called but I have 2 of them planted near the big fence and when I looked the other day, they have little pink flowers blooming.
Our camelia bushes are also blooming with pink and red flowers.
I can't wait for our peach trees to start blooming but for now these little flowering plants make me happy.
Last Wed, I showed you this big guy for Outdoor and Watery Wed. Now let me take you to see the Japanese Garden where he resides.
I just cannot remember the name of the garden but it is in the West Palm Beach area in Florida. It was really hot when we went there but the surrounding was so tranquil and relaxing.
In a Japanese garden, you will always find a pagoda.
I thought this bird is so pretty.
Kat, this is for you. Isn't this a pretty reflection?
Bonsai plants also speak Japanese and these are the biggest that I have ever seen.

Even the butterfly is enjoying the nicely trimmed garden.

ReplyDeleteI have the same dilemma with the pool equipment. It's tucked into an alcove, but it's visible from everywhere. I bought a rectangular, heavy plastic storage trunk at Lowes, which helped some. Love your idea.

What beautiful photos Christine. This Japanese Garden is just gorgeous. And I LOVE the reflection shot, it's really lovely and very well composed. Isn't it fun to find them? The water is so still it looks almost like a mirror - THANKS! Kat. (Oh and that is a huge iguana, what a fun thing to see)
