I am still with my daughter, SIL and babies and did not really want to miss a Tablescape Thursday entry. So, what's a tablescapaholic got to do? I dug out a few items I bought from shopping before my daughter went into labor, bought a set of placemats and napkins and just rummaged through Tina's cabinets to find dishes and flatware that I could use and this is what I came out with.
Just a simple tablescape for 4. She had no napkin rings so I just folded the napkins.
Then, my son in law came home from work and asked why we have a bird on the table. Tina answered that it's mom's tablescaping thingy.

While in the process of putting stuff together, my older grandson asked, "What you doing, lala?" My daughter joked that it's what she has been wondering all along too. LOL!

All these commotions made me feel like I was a freak. Am I? LOL!
Of course, when I see everybody else's tablescapes, I will feel normal again. So, let's all feel normal, go to Susan's blog at http://betweennapsontheporch.blogspot.com and have fun looking at each others table creations.at

ReplyDeleteReally cute, very retro. I love the metal signs. I also have the S&P shakers. The red & white is really nice.
ReplyDeletediner delightful!
ReplyDeleteChristine, I am laughing about your familiy's reaction to you tablescaping! I remember when my family used to react that way. I've done it so much now that they just roll their eyes. This was a new adventure of your daughter and her family. The table looks so cheerful, and the look coordinates so well with her vintage diner signs. You're going to have a hard time saying goodbye to those little ones. Have a safe trip home. laurie
ReplyDeleteWhat a great story, and I love your tablescape, it's so fresh and fun! And I also love those signs on the wall!

ReplyDeleteI was folding napkins today for a tablescape and the mail lady came to the door. I had this strange napkin thing in my hand and couldn't put it down. I was trying to explain that I blog, do tablescapes and was folding napkins. She not only looked at me like I was a freak...I know she thought I should get a job!
ReplyDeleteThe table looks darling and I love how it looks with the signs on the walls. Enjoy those little ones!
Sue
