Crawfish Lunch by the Pool

I am linking with Michael (aka Gollum) for Foodie Friday. Check out all the other food entries at http://designsbygollum.blogspot.com/
My friends and I decided to get together for lunch. The weather was perfect so I set the table outside and took pictures just in time for Tablescape Thursday. Susan is hosting Tablescape Thursday every week. You should go visit her site at http://betweennapsontheporch.blogspot.com and that of her participants to see lots of creative table setting.
I decided to do a beachy theme using my Abigail dishes (from Amazon) for the luncheon plate and servers and mixed them with the white with turquoise shells salad plates and soup bowls that I bought from a TJ Maxx clearance table sometime last year. This is the first time I am using them but I have used the Abigail before.

I used the silver sequined placemats. I thought they mimic sand. The flatware are from Ebay. They look like they have water bubbles, don't they?

The big shell is from Cozumel, Mexico from our last cruise.

The mermaid taper candle holder set is from TJ Maxx. I bought them in Florida a while back. To add to the centerpiece, I took 2 little plants from my stack waiting for me to plant. I also added 2 bumble bees that I bought from a local gift shop, an apothecary jar with shells and miscellaneous tealight candles and holders.

I bought this fish S & P shaker set recently. It was really cheap, I think I paid $1.99.

Just showing you more views. The pool is huge. It's an L shaped 42 ft. long. x 26 x 18 but I only swim in the 26 ft. long part, lol.

Silver tea set on a bamboo tray. We had a Whittard of Chelsea mango and passion fruit tea. Do you see my potted rose topiary with full of blooms on the other side of the pool?

My friends are about to enjoy the lunch.
We had crawfish, Tom Yum Thai soup, stir fry veggies with shrimp and chicken, shrimp with papaya, rice and a coconut dessert.

We were going to swim afterwards but we ate so much and got too tired so we just did Karaoke, lol. We did swim yesterday anyway.

Thanks for stopping by my blog. Your visit and comments are always appreciated. Thanks to Susan and Michael for hosting these 2 fun events.

  15. Christine, what a beautiful spot to enjoy lunch with your friends. I love your tablesetting. I love the bumble bee. That would be so cute in a flower pot or just sitting in the garden. I still couldn't eat those crawfish though!

  16. Yes, your table has with the blue pool the right backdrop. Although you and Cynthia used the same dinnerware, each of you has made a very personal tablescape. Looks great.

  20. Crayfish in spring? Crayfish Swedish tradition held on month of August. That's the only time swedes eats crayfish.

But seeing you ladies with those yummy crayfish, well for me, who cares the tradition, huh?

So pretty & marvelous settings and of course your treasures are to die for.

    Hugs on TT...
