I am sorry I have not visited most of you. My mom almost collapsed last Saturday and was taken back to the hospital and was just released today. Her BP went down to 80/30. So, my time was spent mostly in the hospital because she did not want me to leave her. I only left her when she was napping and when she finally slept at night and then I was back again the next morning. I am happy to say that she is ok now and they just had to stop all her medicine except for her high cholesterol. The doctor said she did not need any of the others. so they were all discontinued and she is doing so much better now.
My post will be very short because I am still exhausted, mostly from worrying. I just did not want to miss Kim's first party. Please visit Kim and the other participants at http://savvysouthernstyle.blogspot.com/
If you visited my post last Saturday, you would have seen this table. I found it in an antique shop in Woodville. I like the shape and the size. I thought it would be perfect for the store for me to do tablescapes. It has rollers too so I can move it around. The seller said it came from an antebellum house there so I like the history too. This is how it looked like when I bought it.
John would not let me paint it. He never lets me paint anything wood because he likes to see the wood grain. So I sanded it and stained it very lightly. The "After" picture is below.
And After
Thanks for taking over the B + A party, Kim. And thank you all for visiting!
I love a round table. The conversation is always best in this setting. I pray that your mother continues to hearl. Thank you for sharing your new project. Cherry Kay

ReplyDeleteOH, Christine! I'm sorry to hear about your mom and all she's gone through. So glad she's doing better. I surely understand the tireness of caring for an ailing parent. Take care of yourself.
ReplyDeleteOh, your table is beautiful! You do find the most wonderful things!
Be a sweetie,
Shelia :)
Christine, thank you for inquiring about my dining room. The painters just finished today. My calendar is pretty booked tomorrow and Thursday, so come Friday, I'll be washing all the crystal and merchandising the cabinets again. I'm really pleased with the room colors. I just have to decide if I want to reinstall my plantation shutters or go with wiindow treatments. Cherry Kay

Oh no! Your poor Mom and poor you! I am glad though that she is back home and feeling better. Try to get some rest yourself, take a nap during the day, if you can! That will get you back to normal. And your table is beautiful, you did a great job restoring the beauty of it. Give your Mommy a hug for me!

That's a handsome table, Christine, and I like the inlay around the edge on the top! The base looks like someone got to it, though, with a paint brush. ;-)
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry you have been so stressed over your mother's health. I wish I could be there to help you or to do something for you. Know that I am thinking of you and sending you much love...
XO,
Sheila :-)
I love it. I think it would look nice in my kitchen - why don't you send it over (wink-wink).
