Not too fancy, I set the table in the kitchen in front of the TV. I was not feeling too well yet. I got my hubby's cold, cough and congestion and I just came back from a trip to Houston to accompany my friend with her medical appointment, so I was tired. I bought the crabs from a Houston market, had them steamed and then iced them on transport.
Unfortunately, John nor my mom do not know how to open and peel the crabs so I had to do all the work. Aren't they spoiled? LOL!
I love how the sun rays are shining on the table.
White Vintage garden plate chargers
White paisley embossed dinner plates
White Villeroy and Boch salad plates
Not a set but they do go well together, don't they?
Polish pottery serving pieces.
What a fun party! My father in law puts out crab tracks in the spillway so there are always fresh crabs & after being with my hubs for 13 yrs. I STILL can't open a crab!!!
ReplyDeleteChristine, for someone not feeling well, you sure set a pretty table. I love how all the white pieces go together yet aren't a set. The edge of each piece really sets them apart. Love the crabs too. Omg, you shelled them all? Bless your heart. You and John look so incredibly happy. Your Mama is beautiful. Love the Polish pottery, I am weakening (if I buy it, then what will go?) Happy Wednesday, be blessed.
ReplyDeleteThe table looks great Christine, you're right the blue and orange are pretty together! Bet you got a workout cleaning all those crabs for everyone! I'm sure you all enjoyed it though:@)

ReplyDeleteBeautiful table setting and the meal looks delicious. I want some cake! Hope your feeling better.
ReplyDeleteIt looks wonderful love those white dishes! Isn't there a video on you tube you could show them so they could crack their own crabs? I think they are playing dumb!
ReplyDeleteLove those red glasses, great buy!
Hey, Christine! How do you stay so slender with all that great food you cook???? Even sick you look fantastic! Bravo for you!!! I really like your kitchen. It looks really spacious. I like the dark woods in it. I have never had crabs steamed. I am sure I will get used to it now that we are moving closer to the ocean where we can get fresh ones. Your table is beautifully set, and I love the combination of white dishes. They look perfect together! Everything looks wonderful! Have a relaxing weekend, feel better soon, and I'll talk to you in a few weeks when we get settled in Savannah. Bye!
ReplyDeleteHi Christine, I hope you've gotten some rest and feeling better.
ReplyDeleteI love your beautiful table, the colors are striking against your pretty white dishes.
The food looks so delicious..... wish I had some of the cake.... YUM!
Beautiful pictures of you, your mom and John!!
I KNEW when our Wisconsin River was so angry and flooding out of its banks that all that water would HAVE to go somewhere, and I KNEW the somewhere was the Mississippi - - - but I HOPED it would be distributed southward gradually enough that you wouldn't HAVE this much flooding - - - - I see my hopes were for naught.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun birthday dinner. Your white dishes do look fabulous together. I love the different raised designs. The new red goblets look great with the setting and those little blue butter warmers do too.
ReplyDeleteSome of my fondest memories of when I was dating my husband are the crab feasts he and his friends used to have. You had to learn how to pick your own crab or you would get mighty hungry. :)
