Last Friday in Florida, my son Jed and daughter in law Becky, cooked dinner for us. Rather than cooking at their house, he decided to just bring all the stuff and cook it in my daughter Rochelle's house. They came shortly after noon with 2 big bins of food and stuff and pretty much slaved in the kitchen all afternoon.
I set the table with whatever I could find there.
Can you tell what I forgot? the napkins! But of course, my daughter did not have cloth napkins so we used paper. The china is made my Mikasa in "Cumberland" pattern. We've had this set, a service for 12, since the early 70's. I gave them to Rochelle when I moved to Mississippi. They still look like new.
I love the platinum border.

I found some green chargers which I also left there when I moved.
I went around the house and just picked whatever I thought would blend well to create a centerpiece.
Then, the time came and my son and DIL started serving us appetizers while the rest of us were bonding in the living room. My youngest daughter Tina with her 2 boys drove 2 and a half hours to join us for the weekend. Jed also invited my bother and sisters in law so I got to see them. Unfortunately, my other brother was working so I did not see him.

It was so good and tasty.
I ate so much appetizers that by the time the main entree was served, I was too full so I asked for a smaller portion of Prime rib au jus, served with roasted potatoes and mushrooms.
Besides, I had to make room for dessert which my DIL both prepared from scratch. First came Creme brulee. Soooo good!
and then the lava cake with oozing chocolate when you cut it, served with French vanilla ice cream and chocolate drizzle. Yummy!

We even had the perfect entertainment. Sorry, our entertainer forgot to dress for the occasion, lol, but he sure gave us some good loud music.

Anyway, you set the table beautifully, Christine! That china is gorgeous...very classic and elegant! I love the candleholder with the pretty greens and yellows that you used for the centerpiece!
