Last Monday, I set the table for 6 even though it was just the two of us eating. I thought it would look better with the whole table set up. Am I crazy creating more work for myself? Am I the only one who does a crazy thing like that? LOL!
I used Royal Stafford's "Birds" dishes. I am not really sure if that is what the pattern is officially called but that is what I call them. I love their warm colors and I think they are perfect for Fall.

For a centerpiece, I gathered a few birds I could easily find in the house and I borrowed the maple tree from the other kitchen table. I went outside to cut out some yellow forsythia from the garden, added a few candles and that's it!
For a more formal look, I layered 2 round tablebloths, a longer brown underneath and a beige on top. I love these crinkle cut material, so light, no need to iron and they just flow. And I found a very reasonable on line source for the tablecloths, runners and napkins. Check it out if you are interested. http://www.tableclothsfactory.com/ I used to have a hard time finding large round tablecloths but they have a lot there so I was so happy to have found them. I bought a lot of different colors.
We had chicken Caesar salad and grilled tuna steak.
I bought the wooden charger plates from Walmart.

Very pretty, Christine. The table looks lovely set for 6...just more dressed up, that is! I like all of the birds and the natural centerpiece. I will have to check out that website for tablecloths as I always have a hard time with my round table. Hopefully my kitchen will be done soon and I can do some tablescapes!!

Love those wooden chargers. This table is so warm and comforting. It makes me want to build a fire, but it is supposed to be 86 tomorrow, so maybe not yet. I love the beautiful table topper with its crinkled fabric. It makes it so dressy. The birds are beautiful. What a fun touch.

A lovely welcome to Autumn. I haven't set a table for two with six placesetting, yet; but I've thought about it. I need to go to WalMart to see if they still have the wooden chargers. They'll be very useful. I haven't been to WalMart in quite a while. Thank you for sharing your beautiful design. Cherry Kay
ReplyDeleteI can't imagine how much this must take you but it's soooo pretty!!
ReplyDeleteYour tables are always so gorgeous! The fall colors are so pretty and the centerpiece is splendid!

Christine..where do I begin. First "birdies" are my very favorite thing and those plates are stunning. You are one of the most gifted people ever, when it comes to setting a fantastically beautiful table. I was in such a rush to see what you were doing for Fall...and I was NOT disappointed. Your blog is always such a treat...blog candy! Yes, Blog Candy... :) I love it!
ReplyDeleteAn adventure every time!! :)
Hi, Christine! How cool is it that you have flatware with birds on it that goes so perfectly with your china??!?!?!?! Wow! LOVE the china! I like it so much when the design on the salad plate is slightly different from the dinner plate. It makes the setting so interesting and pretty! I don't think it's crazy that you set for 6 at all. You can sit there and imagine really interesting, humorous people dining with you! :-) Enjoy your weekend!!!!
ReplyDeleteI love these plates, they are beautiful and having the silverware with birds is a perfect match. Beautiful table!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful table. I just adore those bird plates so much, and the matching flatware. Wow you really did it up, and then to tie it in you added the bird decorations...
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Ellen
