It is the Tablescaper's Blogaversary and she is hosting her annual "Where Do You Keep It All?" party. Congratulations for another succcessful year!
I am staying up late just to be able to post this in advance. Starting tomorrow, I will be very busy hosting 8 College classmates. John and I will be in the airport all day because they are arriving at different times from different places, mostly from US and Canada but as far as the Philippines. We will be having a reunion here for a week so if I do not visit you this week, please understand. I have a very busy agenda prepared. I will post pictures as soon as I can and will visit you as soon as I can also.
Please visit The Tablescaper and her other participants at
It will be fun to see where everybody stores their tableware and how they organize.
As for me, it is quite overwhelming creating this post. I think I have to stop shopping, lol. But I am proud to say that I have only used a portion of 1 cabinet in the bedroom. I try not to use bedrooms to store my dishes but I had to use 1/2 of this computer armoire as you can see below. I keep my Alice in Wonderland tea set and medical caduceus dishes and glasses here.
In the hallway, I am using the storage under the doll cabinet to keep some napkins and tablecloths. Also under the book shelves in the same area are more napkins and tablecloths. You can see the tablecloths are slowly creeping into the coat closet too, which is right next to the bookcases.
This piece of furniture is actually a buffet but we use it as a TV stand. We like to recline when watching TV and so we picked this because it is high. It also helps me because it has a lot of storage. Behind the right door are dvd's but the rest are holding dishes and flatware sets.
The one below is our coffee table. It has 8 drawers on each side and the sizes are just perfect for each set or 2 of flatwares. It is so convenient when I am trying to decide which ones to use.
We are still in the family room and this cabinet holds my flow blue collection. the one on the right is a console in the foyer. I am using it to store some plates and in the drawer are napkins.
I used one drawer of the French cabinet in the living room to store the Old British Castle salad plates and another colorful set.
Now, we are in the dining room and this room has lots of storage pieces and dishes, of course, See the oak flatware case under the oak cabinet? It is holding 2 sets of silver plated flatware.
My very favorite French provincial china cabinet. It looks pretty and it holds a lot.
Done with the dining room so let's go to the kitchen. I think I will just let you browse around. The photos are self explanatory.
Everyday dishes under the kitchen island and inside and above cabinets and frig.
Breakfast nook hutch holds lots of Polish pottery and then some.
The trunk and the chests under the corner cabinet holds more table linens.
Another one I really like because of the convenience is this that I use to store napkin rings and place card holders.
Approaching the bar is a small case holding glasses.
Right across is this.
Inside the bar.
Laundry Room
I converted the broom closet into a charger plate storage by adding wooden shelves. Usually this is packed but I used 10 of the chargers for my tablescape for dinner tomorrow night with my classmates. Candles and candle holders are in the laundry room too.
We're almost done and we are now in the garage. These 2 shelvings hold dishes and glasses too and table accessories. Do you see the door there? It leads to a walk in closet that I am using as a dish room.
Inside the closet.
Ahhhh, I am finally done. I think I have almost 100 sets of dishes now.
Thanks for coming by and thanks to the Tablescaper for this fun party.

I think that you've successfully dealt with the contents of all those boxes that were waiting at the door when you returned from the birth of the new babies several months ago. You've done a great job. Thanks for inviting us for a peak. Cherry Kay

ReplyDeleteOh Christine! I hope you never have to move. It would take a truck or two just for your fabulous collection of tableware. Loved seeing behind all of those doors - what a treat!
ReplyDeleteI think you and Cherry Kay will have to share the crown. I shouldn't be surprised since I don't ever remember you using the same dishes twice! You have some beautiful cabinetry to store everything in. Enjoy your reunion! Sounds like so much fun!

I think 100 sets of dishes deserves some kind of prize doesn't it? Certainly you should get a prize for being so organized and finding places for everything! Well done. Dianne
