I just came back from Florida to visit my kids and grandkids. I learned from a blogger (so sorry but I cannot remember who) about this tea room in Fort Myers, the Wisteria Tea Room and Cafe and sent the info to my daughter a long time ago. While planning our meals for the week, I suddenly remembered about the tea room and we decided to go there for lunch the next day.
The place is so charming and I highly recommend it if you are ever in that area.
They had some pretty displays.
This was where we were seated.
Our 2 little darlings came with me and my youngest daughter Tina. Big brother was in school so he was unable to come.
The babies are growing so fast, that is why John and I decided to go for a visit. John went only for the long weekend because of work, but I extended my stay for 10 days. We also attended birthday parties. My son Jed's birthday was on the 7th and so is John's daughter's son Wren, who just turned one. AJ turned 14 on the 9th. I had to split my time between 2 daughters who live 2 and a half hrs drive apart and also see my son and his wife, who fortunately live in the same area as Rochelle.
We were very excited because it was really our first experience in a tea room. As much as I like having tea with friends at home, there isn't a single tea room in the place where we live.
Here is a close up of what is on the mantel. I love the tea cup rack!
Here is a close up of the tea sets that were displayed on the shelves. I wanted to buy the purple and yellow set but my luggage was already full.
The menu was wonderful and the owner was very gracious and accomodating, even to the children.
My lovely daughter, Tina, with 2 of her kids.
For a starter, we had Darjeeling peach tea, which was really delicious. I had an artichoke spinach white cheddar tart and chicken rice soup while my daughter had a turkey avocado panini and a cup of corn and shrimp chowder for lunch. We were both very happy with our choices.
We were so full so we just shared a creme brulee for dessert. Soooo good! We paired it with a rainbow rooibos tea which was excellent.
We really enjoyed the tea room that we decided to add it to our "Things to Do" list everytime I visit.
See all our happy faces? The babies had a lot of fun too and they were so well behaved.
Thanks for stopping by. And thank you to the hostesses who are holding these fun parties. I hope you get a chance to visit them and their participants.

ReplyDeleteChristine, all of you look beautiful - you, your daughter, and your precious grands. That looks like such a fun place. We have a similar tea house about an hour from here, and I love going to it. It does have several outbuildings-one with antiques; one with new furnishings and accessories; and one with clothes. So it's an all day adventure. laurie
ReplyDeleteChristine, wasn't it just the best tea room?? And the food is so delicious. I believe you saw my post about this tea room, as I remember your comment about making a note about it. The owner, Barbara and her son, cook all the food fresh every day. It certainly was a treat for us, and I am so glad you were able to enjoy it during your trip to Florida!

As for your comment on my previous post. I didn't miss the chance to see you. That was an older picture I took the last time I was in Natchez. We are thinking about visiting again during the holidays. I'll for sure write you when I know the dates. I'd love to meet for coffee or lunch.
Big hugs,
Gigi
