New Year's Eve Party, Saying Goodbye to 2012

I hope you all have a happy, prosperous, peaceful and blessed 2013!

We said goodbye to 2012 by having a dinner party at home with friends. From the looks and smiles of everyone, you can tell that we all had a wonderful time.

It seems like I had just put away my Christmas dishes and now, it was time to decide what to use for the new year's eve party. Well, my Polish pottery won! I thought it would be easier for me since the serving pieces are easy to access. Most of them are just stored on my hutch and above the kitchen cabinets and I certainly have enough pieces to use. I had to make it easy for me since I had just recovered from flu and I am still coughing.

I added some plain silver rimmed dinner plates. We had around 30 people.

I made turkey noodle soup and served it in this soup tureen.

Whittard of Chelsea tea in this Polish pottery teapot in "Evergreen" pattern

I made Seafood paella, my hubby's favorite. And he had a lot even if he is on a no carb diet:-) I cut up some mangoes, which everybody enjoyed, including me.

Most of the guests brought some food too which filled the kitchen counter pretty fast.
I made some vegetable eggrolls ( I say vegetable but I also added shrimp and pork in them) and my friend Noemie brought some only meat ones. She also made the pancit (noodles).

There's Noemie and Riza and their beautiful girls, Kirstyn and Ryzlyne. Riza brought meat casserole and black eyed peas.
John and his friends started eating here but I sent them to the dining room. I thought they would be more comfy there especially when the guests start crowding the food.
We always try to take a group picture afterwards. See all the beautiful smiles?
The dessert table! I even baked my special Sans Rival. It is a lot of work so I probably only make it once in every 3 years, lol. Everybody enjoyed it!
 the girls!

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you all celebrated the New Year with a bang!

  9. I'm crazy about the Polish pottery which my daughter happened to choose when she married. Her taste has gone totally to French country and she put the pottery out for a garage sale. I was horrified and quickly snapped them up knowing she could not sell it for anything close to what it was worth. I'm delighted to have a very extensive set.

  10. What a fantastic start to the New Year, Christine! I haven't been blogging lately but I wanted to stop by for a visit & congratulate you on your newest addition to the family.

Your table looks fabulous & the food is fantastic! I never heard of "Sans Rival" so I googled it & clicked images so I'd know which dessert it was you made. WOW! It looks & sounds delicious. I was amazed at how many other bloggers have made it. Go see. I love that about blogging...I get to learn so many new things.

Warm hugs to you & your sweet hubby & best wishes for a happy & HEALTHY New Year,
    fondly,
    Rett
