I love birds and when Kathleen announced her bird tablescape party, I got excited. The weather has been so nice outside so I decided to set the gazebo table.
The blooming orange trumpets added to the color of the area, especially against the green background. Before I left for FL, the trees had no leaves, 3 weeks later, I came back and it was all green outside with so many flowers blooming. What a great welcome!
I just cut out some flowers, placed them in a vase with water and I had my centerpiece. But of course, the table attracted the birds so they joined in.
I started with a lace tablecloth that I bought from a resale shop, in another booth where I used to have my store. I think I paid $3 for it.
I added my wood chargers, green linen placemats and then my square 222 Fifth "Adelaide" green and white plates. I bought these from TJ Maxx in Baton Rouge maybe a year or 2 ago and I like them very much but I do not know why I never used them until now. See the birds on them?
I debated whether or not, I should use my square ceramic white plate chargers since the plates are square, but you can see which one won.
Dragon fly tealight holders also made it on the table.
I should have lit my candelier but I was lazy to climb up on the chair, lol.
So, I will just show it to you.
More birds on pedestals. I had a third one here but I dropped it and it broke, but I was able to fix it later. See the iron dragon fly tealight holder and a butterfly votive holder too?
A pierced tealight candle holder and white birds napkin rings, dark bamboo handled flatware and green goblets.
The bird is looking down into the secret garden, admiring the yellow irises blooms.
Plus this!
Lastly, I want to show this to you to get your opinions. See the bridge? I would love to add a pond underneath but I am afraid to attract water moccasins and mosquitoes. Will I if there is a pond? I welcome any ideas or opinions on this.
And while I was setting the table, our Northern mockingbird was laying eggs.

I love this, Christine! I love the plates in the place setting in particular. The way you put it among the flowers out in the gazebo like that is beautiful, and the lace linen under it all is unexpected and really lovely.
ReplyDeleteAnd yes! A pond under the bridge would be just wonderful. I would love to have that in my back yard.
Christine...this is absolutely gorgeous! This could be at an outdoor restaurant on a tropical island! The flowers on your gazebo are just lovely and everything in your yard looks so fresh! You set a beautiful table and I know it wasn't easy to bring all that down from your house! I love it all. I hope you and John were able to share a meal here!
ReplyDeleteI think a pond would be wonderful!
XO,
Janie
Christine, your gazebo is beautiful and now with all the blooms around your garden is totally a lovely and even romantic! The dishes are gorgeous all in green. I love it all!
ReplyDeleteFABBY
Love love love your tablescape and the gazebo is wonderful. What a great place to sit outside and enjoy all the hard work of gardening.
ReplyDeleteAbout the pond...I say do it. If it makes you happy, then do it! There are probably some good websites that can give you the low down on maintenance tips etc....
Beautiful post. Love the gazebo! I would love one in my yard, if my yard were a little bigger! xo
ReplyDeleteWow, your over the top table-scape that continues on into your lovely gardens is beautiful. Of course the birds would feel right at home there.
ReplyDeleteI think you should put a pond under the bridge. How sweet it would be to see the water, and what an attraction it would be for the birds and wildlife in your area.
Hi Christine,
ReplyDeleteYour gazebo is gorgeous! My goodness, it's an absolute oasis, with all the beautiful birds, dishware and canopy of glorious flowers!! I appreciate you taking us step by step and love the collage of crockery!
Your newest follower,
Poppy :)
Christine, the blooming orange trumpets are perfect for your setting! A pond under the bridge would be lovely, unless it would attract mosquitos ;-(
ReplyDeleteChristine - your table is so lovely that I am hesitant to even post mine now - lol!! Every detail is fabulous - that birdcage by the table is the perfect addition. Great plates, beautiful flowers and gorgeous outdoor setting - a home run!!
ReplyDeleteOh my word Christine, this is such an amazing setting and your tablescape is gorgeous. Like a fairytale place to be. Thanks for joining Inspire Me. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteONe word to describe your gazebo set-up - ENCHANTING!
ReplyDeleteAs for the bridge, a pond would be very nice with koi in it, we have a neglected small pond in our home but despite being neglected, the kois thrive even during winter! good luck!
Oh so pretty, Christine! I love your gazebo settings dnits perfect for you theme. Everything is wonderful, from your dishes to the chandelier and your accessories. I love water features, so I think a pond would be lovely.
ReplyDeleteOh Christine, this is gorgeous! Stunning, really. I love it! The colors are so beautiful. I don't think I'd ever want to leave the table!
ReplyDeleteThis is one of my favorite posts that you have shared with us! Just amazing and I love the gazebo frame.
ReplyDeleteAMAZING!
Wow! Very classy, very gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteI liked the green square plates.
Beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI love the plates! The setting is so lovely as is your garden!!
ReplyDeleteGood Afternoon Christine, May I say, your garden is so beautiful and the gazebo is just fabulous. I adore the chandilier, just gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteThe design on the plates is so unusual, and I love them.....I have a "thing" for plates and dishes!
I have enjoyed my visit and I have become a new follower. You are welcome to visit me at Ivy, Phyllis and Me! when you have the time, you will always be welcome.
Best Wishes from England.

The gazebo looks just beautiful with the blooms all over it. I love those dishes...I even have them or some very similar in blue. It looks like the perfect day for outdoor dining.
ReplyDeleteEverything bloomed while we were in Florida last week...at least some things did and the grass got very green and thick. Then yesterday we got a ton of rain and now it is freezing (37 degrees today). So, it STILL isn't spring!
Everything looks so pretty Christine. I love your gazebo.
ReplyDeleteJocelyn @ http://justalittlesouthernhospitality.blogspot.com
Those dishes are to die for! What a gorgeous setting for a tablescape...I am so jealous of that some of you ladies are having a real spring...we had a little snow last night! I don't remember such a cold spring as this year.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week...
Christine, I'd check with a pond/landscape guy in town and find out about the snakes. Mosquitoes aren't in running water so they might not be a problem. Now to the gorgeous table.. OOh love the chargers! And the dishes and the birds and the flowers and that pretty lace tablecloth. Your yard looks so lovely. so many intriguing spots to hang out. have a blessed week. xo marlis
ReplyDeleteSo cool that you got a photo of the mockingbird eggs! That's really neat, Christine! I had no idea what they look like!
ReplyDeleteMay I say that this is one of the most beautiful and serene outdoor tablescapes ever? The trumpet flowers draping over the gazebo...so graceful! That in itself makes the whole look just come alive! When you get down to the fabulous plates and all the other fine decorative accoutrements, it becomes very clear that you put a lot of joy and creativity into this table! Now I want a gazebo more than ever!!! Please have a good talk with my husband and let him know how important it is that I get one! ;-)
Truly unique and beautiful. Those plates? Fabulous. I don't know about water under the bridge. It could attract mosquitoes, I guess. However, there are many chemicals you could probably use to deter them. I'd say go for it. Susan
ReplyDeleteBreathtakingly beautiful! I would never leave the table..I'm pretty sure that I could live in the gazebo. Exquisite design! Thanks for inviting us for a peak. Cherry Kay
ReplyDeleteI'm in love with the Gazebo, the dishes, the linens and well, Everything!! Beautiful!
ReplyDeletehugs, Linda
I love those dishes! Your garden is looking fabulous. I have a pond and I keep mosquito dunks in it and my birdbaths-no mosquitoes! They are small donut shape disks, not harmful to birds or animals-you can buy them at any garden center or even Wal Mart. So far haven't seen any snakes!.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! !!! I like your green goblets. Your yard is gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteIf you put a pond, make sure you have a pump to prevent the mosquito
This must be the most gorgeous tablescape ever!! WOW!!
ReplyDeleteBy the way, I used the same plates this week but mine are blue.
My dear girl, you have absolutely outdone yourself and what a charming setting for a perfect table. 222 Fifth are among my favorite dish designs. I was tempted by some I saw at Marshall's (a first) the other day but couldn't think where to put them!
ReplyDeleteChristine I can just hear the buzz of the bees who must be eyeing your orange flowers on the vine and the birds who have got to be waiting to get to those houses. LOL! I love this outdoor setting. It's very pretty and I especially love your new dishes. I'm not sure about the water moccasins but the mosquitoes could be controlled. Regardless, of what your decide you have such a beautiful yard. Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteLove the plates -- bought the same last month at Home Goods! Your gazebo is so beautiful and I love the tablescape you created. Gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteHeather from Friendship, Life and Style
Oh how pretty. I'd love to dine under your gazebo. Those square plates are gorgeous! Your yard looks so pretty. laurie
ReplyDeleteThe outdoor garden setting is the perfect place for a spring tablescape. The green and white plates with the birds are a pretty accent to the orange trumpet vine blooming on the Gazebo. I know you love the peaceful place with all the flowers blooming this time of year. The bird and butterfly votives are a great addition to the table.
ReplyDeleteYour pond under the bridge would be lovely but if the water was more of a circulating system it would be less likely to have mosquito!
Pam
Elegant and grand setting. Your table is beautiful and so lovely in your stunning garden.
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful, this table....and looks just perfect in your pretty setting.
ReplyDeleteA little water can bring lots of bugs (and snakes) so I will vote no on water under the bridge. :))
I would eat lunch every day in that lovely gazebo... takes my breath away! So peaceful. So serene! You did such an amazing job enhancing the gazebo with all your lovely touches. Great color combination of green and orange... love it! And I'm sorry, but I don't have an answer to your question. Hopefully, someone will!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun post!
ReplyDeleteWouldn't a pond be fun? With some concrete blocks on their sides in the bottom for the koi to hide from herons? I don't know about moccasins -- is your area prone to them? The fish eat the mosquitos.
I am so happy that I had some time to pop over here today and see what you shared! It is great to finally be able to flaunt some of my own spring blessings and get inspired by some of the best gardens online!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for joining in on my little party this week! I hope to see you again soon! Have a great weekend!
