It was time again for my annual reunion with my College friends. This time, we all went to Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada, where one of us resides. Three days out of the 7, we decided to wear the same color tops, that is why we are all wearing orange here.
We drove 4.5 hrs one way to visit Cypress Hills. We passed by these along the way, lots of farms particularly mustard seed, trains and livestock, overall, a very relaxing ride. We rented a 15 passenger van and I was one of the 2 designated drivers.
Before going to the hills, which will be in another post, we went to visit the Cypress Hills Vineyard and Winery and had lunch there.
Such a beautiful place! That's Nel, me and Emily.
This is Elsie, one of my College classmates. In the background is the grape vineyard and rhubarb plantation.
Look how large the rhubarbs are!
Beautiful grape leaves. Too bad there weren't any fruits at the time.
I was in full admiration of the landscaping.
Gorgeous flowers!
I love this pergola with the climbing clematis on the wall.
A fish pond to add serenity to the place.
I was in awe of this plant that grows downward. Does anybody know what it is?
We were patiently awaiting for our cheese and wine.
Aaah! There is lunch! Delicious! Just diet coke for me though cause I was driving.
Just for fun, I thought I'd show you my high jump. LOL!
Thank you so much for your visits. I hope you enjoyed that. We really had a great time, the sound of laughter could be heard everywhere we went.
Thank you to the hostesses who are responsible for the memes below. I truly appreciate you all!

Don't you ladies look lovely! What a fun trip for you all and such a great place. Your pix are just beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure you had so much fun.
Beautiful flowers, beautiful place, and I enjoyed seeing them! Christine, I thought of you last week when we were in Mackinac Island. One of the shops had lots of Polish pottery. There was even a large chicken - perhaps a cookie jar? They had cute little cow creamers too. Thanks for sharing your travel adventure photos!
ReplyDeleteHi Christine and welcome to Canada! Looks like you gals had a fabulous time. Your photos are beautiful. That tree you were wondering about is probably a 'Walker' Weeping Caragana. We have a similar weeping caragana in our small garden. They really are pretty trees. I enjoyed your photos.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Sandi
It was fun to see you all dress in orange. Love your photos and I cannot for the life of me picture wine made from rhubarb. I love rhubarb in all it's forms.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun trip!! The flowers are so pretty! You really jump high!
ReplyDeleteWish I could jump so high! You guys look like such good friends. I know the trip was a memory to cherish!

How lovely to meet with your college friends now and then. You all look great having so much fun
ReplyDeleteSo love all the photos of this beautiful vineyard! The use of rhubarb for wine amazes me! How creative!
ReplyDeleteIt's so special to be able to get together with your college friends! This winery was lovely. Hope the wine was as much of a treat as the scenery.
ReplyDeleteHi Christine,
ReplyDeleteIsn't my homeland just GORGEOUS?! I miss the fresh landscape of Canada, the beautiful flowers and well manicured gardens, the organization, I guess. Here in Greece, things are SLIGHTLY more rustic and wild. Thanks so much for taking me along and helping me with my permanent homesickness!:))

Cypress Hills looks beautiful. The vineyards and all the flowers around it are just so stunning and special. But most of all, it's so special that you and your college classmates have remain in close contacts and relationships throughout the years, That's priceless.
ReplyDeleteThat's really big-sky country!

Looks like a very fun time - and I'm sorry to have missed the winery when I went through Cypress Hills last fall. I didn't even know it existed.
