Another Impromptu Dinner Get Together

2 Impromptu get togethers in one day is pretty exhausting but fun nonetheless. And we thought we were only going to church last Sunday! But, after mass, John and I saw our friends and as we congregated outside the church, we got to inviting one another for lunch at  a hibachi reataurant. And so we did! But that was not the end of it.

While eating, we were planned about having dinner that night at home and so we did!
I had to pick plates that were easily accessible in the dining room, especially because at least 75 % of my dinnerware sets are all packed away for the move. But I managed to get this together in such a short time.
I thought yellow is kinda springy even if my table cloth is fallish. But 80% of my table linens are are boxed up too.
I just used the vase and flowers that were already on the table and just added a pair of white candelabra

Everybody brought a dish but I cooked a mussels dish. We also had barbecued pork chops and pancit, a Filipino noodle dish.

And I made bananas foster for dessert. Yummy!
For a dinner with no planning, it was a huge success and a lot of fun. Look at these happy faces! We had 9 people including kids so I added an extra chair at the end, actually swapped the big arm chair with  2 smaller chairs from the kitchen.
and the guys were happy too! Sorry about hubby's shirt. I don't iron, lol, and he loves to wear cotton ones.
Thank you for visit and thanks so much to the hostesses for the ever going fun parties!

  5. A beautiful table and quite a feast. You have to tell me how you manage to cook all of these great dishes and set a lovely table. The dessert would have taken most of my time. And you have the ingredients on hand? Please move this way so you can help me!!! :)

  10. That turned out looking great Christine! Sounds like a very successful impromptu party. The dishes are very pretty and worked well mixed together. I don't envy all the packing you have to do but I'm sure when it's all done you'll be happier being closer to the other family members.
