Honey Wedding Party Favors and A Blue Surprise in a Blue Box

I have missed a couple of Monday posts and I am so excited to swing back into action. Blue Monday is hosted by Sally at http://smilingsally.blogspot.com/. Please visit Smiling Sally and click on the links to visit all of the other blue posts.
I would like to share a box made out of turquoise semi precious stones that my husband brought me a long time ago after going to Colorado with his daughter.
And look at the surprise inside! It's a pair of dangling gold earrings with turquoise.

Aren't they pretty? To this day, they are one of my favorite jewelry. And I love the unique box they came in also.
Thanks, Sally for hosting another fun event and giving us a chance to show off our precious blues!

And now, for Met Monday, which is hosted by Susan of http://betweennapsontheporch.blogspot.com/, I would like to show you the wedding favors I made for my stepdaughter's wedding guests.
I ordered the jars on line and bought the gallons of honey from Sam's Club.
At first, I planned to just wrap the lids with tulle but I didn't like how they turned out so I asked my daughter to take me to Jo Ann Fabrics. Remember, I made all these favors while visiting her and her family in Cape Coral. I bought a brown silky material.
I wrapped the lids with the brown fabric, wrapped tulle over it and secured them with a rubber band.
Then I tied the neck and covered the rubber band with green and pink ribbons, attached a tiny pink rose and hang a little heart charm.
I asked my other stepdaughter to make the labels for me, "Heather and Ben, Meant to Bee" on one side and "May 17, 2009" on the other side, which of course is the wedding date.
I like how they turned out and the bride was very happy with them. She said they were much, much more than she expected and that she loved all the special touches I added.
Thank you, Susan for taking the time to host another Met. Mon. event and thank you all for coming.
