Parisian Chic

Today is my favorite table play day because Susan of http://betweennapsontheporch.blogspot.com/ is hosting Tablescape Thursday. Won't you come and join me take a peek at Susan's creative tablescape and then let's take a peek at her participants' tables too!
I created this on Monday and scheduled the publishing in advance even if my company do not arrive until Wednesday. I just know I will be busy and I won't have time to take pictures if I wait. Besides, I still have to prepare a table in the kitchen for the kids.
My sister, her daughter with 3 children, their friend with 1 kid, AJ's dad who is riding with them are all driving from Chicago, leaving on Tuesday evening. And oh, my classmate from HS who is visiting US and is also in Chicago is also tagging along. I have not seen her in 43 years. I am really excited but I know that my next few days will be very busy.

I decided on a Parisian theme. Since I am usually an earth tone kind of gal, this is my first black and white table setting. But when I think of Paris, I think "elegance" and black and white in my opinion, is elegant. I used a black and white wire basket for my centerpiece. I found it on a clearance table for $10 at TJ Maxx. I especially like the black and white tiles bordering the basket. Then, I placed my faux magnolia flower in a white vase inside the basket..
I used my round beaded silvery placemats, white tin cut out chargers that Marty of http://astrollthrulife.blogspot.com/ shared with us in one of her posts. I believe Laurie of http://bargainhuntingwithlaurie.blogspot.com/ has the same set but bought them a lot cheaper, after all, she hunts for bargains. I bought the black dinner plates from Big Lots for $1 each. Then, I added my square Eiffel Tower salad and dessert plates.

Here is the salad plate.
Not sure which building this dessert or appetizer plate is.

I used my crystal and Bernard Limoges candle holders.
Isn't this cool? It's just plain white and the design is not visible when it is not lit.

I finally got to use the Eiffel Tower figures I bought when we were touring Paris.
and a Fleur de lis server a friend gave me.
I used a book stand as part of my centerpiece. I think it is Frenchy or at least European.
a closer view
And finally, a napkin and holder I bought from Pier 1.
Thanks, Susan for hosting another playful event and thanks everyone for playing along with me.
