It's been cold here the last 3 days though I am sure cold for me is not the same as cold for you, but it was in the 50's, so I did not work outside at all. When I took out the garbage today and got that first sniff of fresh air, I realized that the nice weather is back. I got my mom from inside the house and sat her outside while I cleaned the mess on the deck, which was left by our terrential rain and storm 3 nights ago. Then I watered the plants.
Here is my mom with all smiles. I know I have said this before but doesn't she look good for a 92 year old woman? She will be 93 in 3 months.
She got cold after a while although it was only 71 degrees so I wrapped a blanket around her.
The iris continues to bloom.
Now, I have to show you my veggies that I planted more than a week ago, except for this strawberry that keeps coming back. See the little strawberries?
The parsley survived the winter but I planted new cilantros, chives and basil.
The rosemary thrives every year and keeps getting bigger. But do you know what is in front of it? I am not sure but it could be weed but it could also be stevia if my old one did not die. Can somebody tell me? Should I pull it out or leave it?
See those stepping stones? I laid them one by one last year or was it the other year? And boy, they were really heavy! And walking down balancing yourself carrying a heavy one was not easy but I like how it looks plus it makes me go down easier now.
I hope you enjoyed seeing my vegetable garden. I am linking with Sherry for Home Sweet Home at http://thecharmofhome.blogspot.com/

I admire all your tiny vegetables and herbs that you planted recently. That looks like a slide that goes into your swimming pool, I'm not sure. Yes, your mom looks very good, wow, 92.
ReplyDeleteStopping by from Tootsie's place for Fertilizer Friday. I shared my azaleas on my other non-food blog "My New 30."
ReplyDeleteI think you've done a beautiful job with your gardens - everything looks lovely, and so does your mother!! I think she will be around for many more years yet. :)
CHRISTINE! MOM looks WONDERFUL !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI need to come visit with her on the patio!
We would have a good time! XOXO
Your Mother looks great - hope she continues to do well. Your garden looks like it is doing great. I have not seen any iris blooming here yet. I only have a few iris plants left, so not sure what they will do this Spring.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend.
All those vegetable...I am so envious!! I hope that my rosemary looks like that someday. I doubt it because it will die over the winter and I can't imagine it getting that big in one season. So...I am planting it in a pot and praying that it makes it through the winter in my house.
ReplyDeleteAre the raised beds surrounded by wood something new? I don't remember them from last year, but there was so much to see in your huge yard. I love all of the signs!
XO,
Janie
Your mom is so beautiful! I do love your garden....I planted peppers a few weeks ago and was told it was too soon. I'm begining to wonder with this cold weather lingering on....i do have about 40 tomato plants sprouting in the house and I hope they do good this year. last year it was so hot they just dies out.
ReplyDeletegood luck to you and your garden :)
