Lantana and Butterflies

Ever since our lantana bloomed, butterflies have been swarming and fluttering over them. They are just too cute so I started taking pictures. I just kept clicking away because they keep moving from one flower to another.

There are 3 kinds of flowers coming out of one plant, all pink, mostly pink with a little yellow and mostly yellow with a little pink. I think they are all equally lovely.

I won't say much anymore. I will let the photos speak for themselves. Enjoy!

Can you spot all the 3 butterflies below?

  1. These are amazing photos, Christine!! Not just the butterflies, but your great pictures. You should frame a few! Is lantana a perennial or annual in your area? I would love to grow it to have more butterflies!

Hope all is well with you!!

  6. Here in the desert there is a LOT of lantana as it does well in the heat, but not butterflies

I have seen very few this whole summer. Maybe they will travel back through here on their way to Capistrano?

Thanks for the comment on my twins post, and congrats on the upcoming arrival of your three grandbabies.

Thanks for joining this Wednesday's Bunny Hop Party

  8. I just planted lantana in my side yard. We moved into this house in mid June so I had a lot of gardening I needed to do over this summer. The previous owner didn't do much. I tried to get as much in the ground before the end of the season and cross my fingers that by spring I'll have some blooms. My lantana isn't quite as big as yours but it has drawn a few butterflies. I just love butterflies. Great pictures.

    Gigi
