The weather is getting more pleasant outside so I decided to set a table out on the deck.
The table is small so I did not elaborate too much on the centerpiece, just a pot of ivy and an angel figure. I did not even use a plate charger.
I love the colorful plates. I have had them for a while now and I just remembered to use them again.I think I used them on a tablescape once, maybe last year.
I have had this ivy topiary for a while. I bought two of them 2 years ago but this is the only one that survived the winter, even though I brought them both in the garage.
I like these glasses. They are light green on top with orange stems.
Do you see the morning glories on the left side that climbed up on the crepe myrtle?
See the jalapeno peppers at the foot of the angel? I just picked them and just left them there for additional color.
Flatware given to me by my son and DIL one Christmas.
Goblets are from TJ Maxx from a long time ago. The napkin rings were from Pier One on clearance.
While setting up the table, the hummingbirds were flying all over the deck. It was so much fun to watch them.
They kept me company the whole time I was out there.
I have a new potting bench. Do you see it against the brick wall? After I saw BJ's post about potting benches, I had to get one. What a pleasure not having to bend or be on my knees anymore when I am potting and to have all my garden tools in one place. I don't know why we did not buy one a long time ago since I do a lot of pot planting.
The bushy climber in the background is a honeysuckle. I planted it there to conceal one of the unsightly huge air conditioning units that's right behind it. Glad I don't see it anymore since it was really an eye sore.

There it is! The basket is now hanging on the porch and most of the those plants have been planted. The tomato looks pitiful so I planted it in the raised vegetable garden. I am hoping it will get healthier there.

Pretty table, Christine. I'm impressed that your topiary is thriving. I rarely can keep them alive.
ReplyDeleteI love your pretty dishes Christine, great colors! And speaking of color, the jalapenos look really good too-enjoy:@)
ReplyDeleteI love this tablescape Christine! Those dishes are very pretty. I bet the hummingbirds were attracted to the colors. I think you just cannot beat an Ivy plant for a centerpiece. It is among my most all time favorites, though I have trouble keeping Ivy alive in small pots. Yours with the topiary is gorgeous!
