We finally have good and sunny weather now. For a while there, I thought it will never stop raining.
Kathleen has a snowy and ice challenge for this week. I tell ya, having lived in the Philippines, Florida and Mississippi, this was a real challenge, I thought I would use mainly white and silver for the icy effect.
I picked to use my Johnson Brothers Friendly Village transferware for the dinnerware, which has a snowy scene.
Silver colored hammered flatware I think gives a snowy effect too.
I used a crocheted table cloth I bought from Grand Cayman and added 5 snowflake placemats in the center for a runner.
I can't remember where I bought these candles but I like the color and texture. I placed them in silver holders.
I pulled out a silver mercury bottle from storage.
I just bought this mercury silver decanter from Belk's while shopping with my friends this past weekend. Do you see the flowers on the lid? It was 50% off at $12.
I have silver napkins but could not find them and my friend saw these but they are placemats. So I just folded them pretending to be napkins, lol.
I also added some chickadee accessories including this butter dish and the teaset at one corner of the table.
I don't know about where you live but our cardinals are here all year long.
My chickadee tea set
Thanks for the challenge, Kathleen. I hope I was able to meet your expectations. I have some vase fillers that look like ice and I was going to spread them all over the table but I could not find them.
Thanks to all our gracious hostesses and to all who visit. I really do appreciate you all very much!

Hi Christine! Your winter tablescape is wonderful! I really like JB Friendly Village but at the moment I only have the cups/saucers and salad plates. Maybe I will find some more pieces at auctions someday. Love your tablecloth, it is big and beautiful! Thanks for sharing. Gina

ReplyDeleteHi Christine, you did a beautiful job on your tablescape for Kathleen. Friendly Village is one of my favorite patterns and it works beautifully here. The crocheted tablecloth is stunning!
ReplyDeleteIsn't our weather crazy, seventy degrees one day and snow the next! It didn't last long, ground temps not cold enough. Just long enough to get a few photos.
Hugs,

ReplyDeleteOh, Christine, this is a fabulous snowy white winter table. I always love white and silver. I think it is so elegant. Your plates are just lovely and set the mood. I think we are in for more snow this weekend. I much prefer it on a beautiful table than on the ground!
ReplyDeleteChristine, your table is gorgeous. It doesn't look gloomy there. I have those plates too. I should have put together a table. Those Chickadee accessories are adorable.
ReplyDeleteSuch a fun table to beat away the Winter blues....
Christine, I almost used my Friendly Village china for this post too. I love your mercury glass decanter, and the chickadee pattern is so unique. For a warm weather girl, you sure did a great cold weather scape. laurie
ReplyDeleteI think you did a great job of making the table feel like winter! Of course we are so cold here this week that no pretending would be necessary! I wish I could say that I've only lived in warm places:)
ReplyDeleteThis is a great setting, Ate Xine. Love the blings and the theme really fits for the winter season.
ReplyDeleteHope you all have a great day & week-end ahead.

Beautiful table, Christine! I think you were successful with your winter tablescape. Love those dishes! I've always admired them and one day I'm going to gt a set.
ReplyDeleteChristine, for never living in snow country you did a great table...the tablecloth is beautiful. I love the Friendly Village china.
ReplyDeleteHow pretty and Wintery! You did a great job of capturing winter on your Florida table.....wish you could send some of your weather up here!~
ReplyDeleteThe more I see of this Friendly Village in blogland the more I am falling in love! I think your table is very wintery! The chickadee dishes are also wonderful!!! Linda
ReplyDeleteHi, Christine! I guess because I've lived in the Kansas City, MO area all my life where we get the 4 seasons, I tend to forget that people who have lived in warm climates don't have the same frame of reference when it comes to snow and ice and all things shivering cold! But you did a good job regardless!!!! You gave your table that "put on an extra sweater and make a pot of soup" look...with elegance and charm! I like how you used the hammered flatware because of the handle's "snowy" effect. Very creative eye!
ReplyDeleteHello Christine. I really like Johnson Brothers! I love browns too so this table setting really appeals to me.
ReplyDeleteGreat blog.
Linda
Your winter table is beautiful Chris! I love the Friendly Village dishes and of course, the gorgeous lace tablecloth. You did an amazing job for a winter tablescape, although you don't live in cold, and snowy weather..even I am from NY, so I know what snowed winters are! Big hugs,
ReplyDeleteFABBY
I had to chuckle over your comment regarding the places you have lived....certainly not much ice in any of them. You met the challenge well.
ReplyDeleteHi Christine, if this was a challene; you certainly can't tell. I love your Johnson Bros. I only have one pitcher that I found at a thrift store. Would love to add to it. I saw that same mercury glass with the flowers at Home Goods. I was so tempted to buy it, but I have so much mercury glass so I resisted. Seeing yours makes me wish I had. Thanks for sharing with Share Your Cup.
ReplyDeletehugs,
Jann
Beautiful, Christine! Love those candle sticks, and the china is so pretty!
