Christmas Eve Dinner Table

I hope you all had a Blessed and enjoyable Christmas. We had a Christmas party early, on the 19th because some of my friends were working on Christmas and some went on a skiing trip. So, for Christmas eve, John, I and Debjani, a friend visiting from New York had a nice quiet dinner for 3.

I set the table using my black and platinum Biltmore in "Holland Platinum" pattern. I thought the medallion in the center mimics that of a snowflake.

Doesn't the snowflakes on the coconut cupcakes match the medallion on the plates?
Keeping up with the silvery motif, I used my faux diamond and silver napkin rings and pewter flatware. I should have used silver flatware but I was lazy to dig them out and these were already in the kitchen.

I was so glad to have these napkin, I really like them and they wash and dry very well and they look elegant on the table.

No tablecloth necessary. I just started with a sequined placemat, followed by a fluted silver plate charger, then the Biltmore "Holland Platinum" dinner and salad plates.
I  cut some holly berries from outside, gathered a few silver balls and with 2 tapered candles and my cupcakes, I had a festive centerpiece.

I used black goblets and clear crystal stems.

Hope you enjoyed our simple table. Now, it is time to prepare for the New Year. If you are traveling, stay safe. I hope the new year brings everybody and our families, more blessings, happiness, peace, love and health.

Thank you for the pleasure of your visits. And thank you to the hostesses.

Happy Third Birthday, Reese!

Reese is my youngest daughter, Tina's youngest baby and her only girl. She was born 3 years ago, the day after Christmas.
 Such a precious baby girl!
I was fortunate to help take care of her during the first days of her life.
And when the twins, my other daughter Rochelle's babies, Rea and Halle, were born 15 days later, she had to visit the hospital with us too and we call them our triplets.
I just love her beautiful smile.
This is when they visited us in Natchez.
Watching her big brother play soccer.
Of course, she is the apple of her 2 brothers' eyes.

And she enjoys being with all her cousins.

 Her hair is finally growing!
Taken during my last visit to them a few weeks ago.

Happy Birthday, Baby Girl! I love you very much! Stay as sweet as you are!

Christmas Party, 12-19-2014

First and foremost, I would like to greet each and everyone of you and your families a very Blessed Christmas and good health and peace for the coming New Year!!!

We had our Christmas party at home here in Natchez last Friday. So much food and we all had a great time. I made it strictly buffet style in the dining room.

I left the same centerpiece, just modified it a bit. I took out the santas and moved them to the buffet server and took out 2 Christmas houses and just left one, to make room for the food.
I used my favorite Christmas dinnerware by Lenox "Winter Greetings".  I have a big set , a complete setting for at least 20 people plus serving pieces so I like using this for big parties.

I used 2 sets of silver plated flatware

A few people did not make it to the group picture but this was the majority.
Lots of food for sure so guests were able to pack doggy bags at the end of the party.

Thank you all so much for taking time out of your busy schedule. I hope you all stay healthy cause this the is the time of the  year when we overdo it and then our body resistance go down.
Thanks especially to the hostesses for continually hosting parties even during this busy season.

Thanksgiving Table for the Kids

After I showed you a Christmas table, I am going back to Thanksgiving to share the kids' table in the kitchen and the food . I  meant to show it last week but I did not want to miss Kathleen's Pinteresting challenge.

I went on with using Polish pottery. The blue satiny tablecloth from Tablecloth Factory turned out to be perfect with them. My friend gave me some pecans from her tree and I added them on the centerpiece. I always like to use that fluted Polish pottery compote.

Black rustic tree napkin rings from Joss and Main or is it Zulily? Although they appear darker in the pictures, the napkins are blue.

    Blue flatware from Horchow.
I love this faux driftwood candle holder.

I set the food as a buffet on the kitchen counter. So much food! We had ham, turkey and all the trimmings, eggrolls, noodles, chicken adobo, sushi, pork chops, sweet potato casserole, and desserts galore.

The dessert table in the breakfast nook.

Thank you so much for stopping by. I won't say much because this is already late but I  was traveling. I have been extremely busy between here and Florida but I want to announce that Rea continues to do well. Her hair is starting to grow and she is so excited. We all are! Here is her picture with her twin Halle taken on her latest clinic check up yesterday.
