While John was in Florida to visit brand new grandson, I stayed behind because I am going there in a few weeks. But I am afraid of being home alone at night. My 2 friends were so nice to sleep at home and keep me company both nights John was away. We had such a great time, staying up until 4:30 AM and we kept joking that we should send John out of town more often, lol.
I wanted to create something feminine for the breakfast table., after all it was a girls' slumber party.
Since we ate dinner the night before on the round kitchen table, I thought we would eat breakfast here with a pool view.
The wooden box is from One Kings Lane and I filled it with birds and bird stuff.
Placemats have purple hydrangeas in them. The coffee pot is "Enchantment" by Royal Stafford.

The teacups and saucers are made by Tirschenreuth but I cannot read the pattern anymore because the set has been put away.
I love the combination of the green and lavender. I think it is very feminine and soothing.Because we went to bed so late, I had a hard time getting up. By the time I got to the kitchen, Brenda and Debjani were already there getting ready to prepare breakfast. I asked why they did not wake me up and they said they wanted to surprise me. LOL! Don't I just have the nicest friends?
Debjani was introduced to a typical ethnic Filipino breakfast and she loved it as well as we did!
I am not sure what my floral plates are but I think they might be made by Nippon. Again, I already packed them away. As you might already know, I have been boxing up my dishes because I have to empty cabinets so the floor people can move the furniture so they can replace our floors.

The dinner plates are made in Portugal.
The purple glasses are made by La Rochiere. The goblets with a greenish tinge were bought from one of the vendors in the store for $1 each.
I bought this bird and nest sauce server from Charleston. I served vinegar with hot pepper from our garden in it and used it to dip the sausage. We like hot stuff.
Debjani was trying to be creative in trying to take a picture of all of us. I could not find my tripod so pedestal tray servers would have to do, lol.
We had eggs (sunny side up and hard boiled), Filipino sausage (longanisa- so yummy with the spicy vinegar) and fried rice .
Thanks so much for your visit, it is always very much appreciated.

That sounds like so much fun to have a girls sleepover! I haven't done that in a long, long time. I know your guests were more than happy to get up and get breakfast started because they were anxious to sit down to that beautiful table you had created! Glad to hear you're getting your floors done, but I know what a pain in the patootie it can be while getting ready for it. Hang in there!

This is such a fun sleep over....I haven't done one with my girl friends for the longest time! Lucky you. You've got some delicious breakfast and gorgeous tablescape there...perfect for the occasion and so beautiful.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness! I would have loved to stay the night too :o) Yummy breakfast, beautiful tablescape and fun friends :o) Hm...I wonder if longanisa is similar to the flavor of the Portuguese sausage Linguica?
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the new grandbaby!!!
Blessings & Aloha!
& Thank you dear friend for your visit and comment. I can imagine how your daughter with the twins is growing and growing! :o) Have they or your others have thought of names for their babies? I can't wait til ours decide! Have they all gotten their nurseries decorated? I've been thinking of what drawing to do for our grandbaby, but will wait also til after she is born... Our daughter is decorating the baby's room in Lilly Pullitizer-inspired colors and fabrics...pinks, greens, whites, etc... :o)
Blessings & Aloha!
The Portuguese plate kept capturing my attention...a wonderful piece. I'm pretty certain that this was the most elegant slumber party ever given. Two gorgeous tablescapes for precious friends. Thank you for inviting us for a peak at your party. Cherry Kay
ReplyDeletethere is nothing like a sleepover. It brings out conversations you would never have had. LOVE those yellow star like plates, just beautiful.
ReplyDelete- The Tablescaper
That's a gorgeous tablescape, Christine! Congratulations for being featured on Sarah's blog!
ReplyDeleteHugs, Cindy
Aren't sleep overs fun? You ladies sure looked like you were having a great time. That is a lovely picture of Debjani. She looks good in yellow (not too many people can wear that color and get away with it) Longganisa and eggs, isn't that what they call Losilog? Love those Filipino breakfasts. Did you get your Calamansi tree from Florida? My friend from there grow Atis and Chico in their backyard. As always, your tablescape looked awesome. Wish I was there too!
ReplyDeleteWhat fun to have the time with your girlfriends and how lucky they were to have such a beautiful table at which to share memories and laughter.
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful Christine! Lovely table to have for your girlfriends! I love the coffee set up too. Thank you for joining me at Home Sweet Home!
