It is getting too hot and humid here so I thought I would create a beach tablescape. I just gathered everything from different rooms and bathrooms in the house and came up with this.
The plates were bargains. The only one I paid full price for are the blue Abigail dinner plates. The salad plates with shells were $1 each from a clearance table at TJ Maxx. The white St. Helena plate chargers were originally $14.95 each but they were on clearance at Z Gallerie for $2.89 each. Too bad they only had 6 left but they had enough of the cream ones so I bought 8 of those. I would have bought all the white ones to sell in my booth if they had more.
I used 2 types of flatware, a blue one with bubbles and another almost coral in color. I also used 2 types of napkins, plain coral and printed blue with sea shells. The napkin rings are blue shells with fish, starfish and a sand dollar. They feel like clay. I had this shell box that I was selling in the booth. I brought it home when I decided to do a beachy themed table. First, I just laid it on the table with the lid closed and then I decided to add some pearl and coral jewelry and make it look like a treasure chest.
We bought this small wooden box with fish from Roatan Island in Honduras.
It was so hot outside, my candles melted before I could even light them, lol. I bought the net with shells from Big Lots about 2 years ago.
John bought the big shell compote from Red Door in Baton Rouge. I love that store!
I am glad he bought it because I wouldn't even if I like it because I think it is expensive. I am cheap, lol. Too bad the Big Lots store here closed. I enjoyed buying cheap stuff from there.

The 2 opaque candles with shells were from Cozumel.
The fish are from Ross. They usually live in the guest bathroom.
I hope you enjoyed my beachy tablescape. I am linking with Susan for Outdoor Wednesday at http://asoutherndaydreamer.blogspot.com/ and another Susan for Tablescape Thursday. Please do visit them too at http://betweennapsontheporch.blogspot.com/

I love this one, Christine. I kept changing my mind as I read through it as to my favorite part. I think the fact that you used coral as well as the blue is the thing that gives it the punch. That was a great choice. And that treasure chest is the finishing touch!

The large shell bowl in the center is a beautiful treasure...as is the shell box filled with jewels. The colors being the pool and all of the surroundings into the design so effectively. Thank you for the cool moment. Cherry Kay

Have a special time with your children.

Christine you've outdone yourself! I think this may be one of my top favorites of the tablescapes you've done. Beautiful girlfriend!! LOVE that shell vase, so good for John for picking it up! And with your pool in the background it looks totally cool and refreshing even if it isn't *winks* Vanna
Christine,
What a delightful and imaginative tablescape!! I LOVE it!! So pretty and whimsical. I laughed when you mentioned that your candles melted. I have had that problem for years out in my little patio in the back but this year I bought the flameless candles from The Christmas tree Shop and they are great at night and no melting!!!
Hugs,
Debbie
