It's Saturday again and it's time to go sightseeing. Are you ready? Let's go! But first, let me greet you all a very Happy Valentine's Day!
I thought we can take a break from the Baltic and Mediterranean Sea and enjoy the Western Caribbean for a change. I want something with a tropical weather. What about Mexico? What about Cancun? I can't wait to go to the beach. I am tired of the cold and gloomy winter.
Before I start the tour, I would like to remind you to click on the video at the end of these still photos. Ever since our 10 year old granddaughter was old enough to enjoy them, we've been taking her to 2-3 cruises every year. It's so funny because at her young age, no matter how huge those cruise ships are, she knows the ins and outs of them. She never gets lost. I think she has taken at least 8 cruises, mostly Caribbean and Mediterranean. She should have a Carnival VIP card by the end of this year. On this trip, we also took her daddy, my son in law, along. We thought AJ would really enjoy having him and she wanted to see him experience his first cruise. We sent them on a Dolphin ride excursion and you should watch the video of AJ swimming with the dolphin.
John and I chose a city and shopping tour. Actually, I did. Don't tell him but the reason I gave him for taking the city and shopping tour was because it was cheaper. I told him I want to save money after buying AJ and her dad the expensive tickets to swim with the dolphins. But really, I just wanted to go shopping. LOL!
Sit back, relax and just enjoy the scenery.
Isn't Cancun, actually most of Mexico, colorful?
Wait a minute, amigo, I see a muy bonita tienda. Can we stop to buy some souvenirs?
Will I pass for a Mexican in that sombrero?
And what luck! A restaurant right across the store. After walking around the huge store, I am ready to eat.
Muy deliscioso! John and I ordered seafood paella and a chicken Caesar salad. It was interesting that the waiter made the Caesar dressing right in front of us, mixing eggs, anchovies, mustard, lime and I can't remember what else. It was really good!
It's not Mexico without Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville.

Out of so many trips that we have taken, 2 places got the most ooooohs and aaaahhhs from tourists. The first one was the Sagrada Familia Church in Barcelona, Spain (we'll go there some other time) and the other one is this beach. Cancun Beach has this marvelous aqua water and clean white sand. It will take your breath away. But don't worry, the breeze will give it back to you:-)
Here's the video I was talking about. Go ahead and play it. It's really cool! What a great experience for our granddaughter, Ashley. She was so excited!

The water and sand are truly gorgeous in Cancun. Of all the trips I have taken to Mexico, I would have to say Cancun had the best beaches. Your granddaughter looks like she had a blast, what a great adventure for her.
When I went to Cancun many, many years ago there was a white building that really fascinated me. I thought it was the same white building you showed in picture number three. But, I got out pics and it is not the exact one, but it is very similar.
I want you to know that I really have been enjoying all of your trip photos, thank you so much for sharing them with us.
hey c/x thanks for visiting my place and taking me on a trip to mexico this morning. I tried to visit yesterday and could not comment...sometimes I can , sometimes I can't ...what will today do...

Looks like you had a fabulous time...and your little AJ is just so darn cute playing with the dolphin!!!

Your son must have had a fabulous time also. Such wonderful and sweet memories. HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY dear friend. I hope it is filled with love and blessings. Hugs, Marty
With your coloration and the hat, I think you might pull it off (pass for a Mexican). Just don't ever emigrate. We would lose you, and we wouldn't want that to happen.
What an education AJ is getting. The video is wonderful fun to watch and dream that that could be oneself.
I've cruised the Mexican Carribbean several times and loved seeing it through your experiences .... thank you and have a wonderful day, Christine!
