Last time we had a raclette dinner, my son in law missed it cause it was a few weeks after Hurricane Irma and he was working double time to help restore electric power in the city. My grandkids wanted a repeat performance so their dad could experience a "fancy dinner" according to Reese, my 6 year old granddaughter, lol.
Since it is getting closer to Halloween, I decided to use my German ghost plates.
I knew the table will be crowded so I just used salad plates with no chargers nor dinner plates. I originally bought these plates when my classmates from College and I were to have a reunion at our house in Natchez, MS. We called our group "Spooks" in College and we still do, so these have a special meaning to me.
I used various stem glasses. I thought the kids would get a kick out of the spooky ones. I forgot to take a picture but I even used ghost and witch shaped ice, which the grandkids were excited about.
We had potatoes, fish, sausage, pickles, crackers, pearl onions and of course, raclette cheese.
I used a tarnished silver plated teapot for tea. I intentionally left it unpolished to have a scary look. I polished the tray though.
Thanks for stopping by and thanks to the hostesses of these fun parties.

This is the first time I've heard of a raclette dinner. Very cool! Casper would approve of your fun table setting.
Great tablescape. What is a raclette dinner?
Ghost and witch shaped ice cubes??? That sounds like a lot of fun for kids young AND not-so-young!!! How sweet of you and incredibly thoughtful of your grandchildren to put on an encore "fancy dinner" for your son-in-law's enjoyment! I'm sure he is probably STILL feeling the effects of all that overtime working Irma's aftermath. Like some of the other commenters, this is my first time hearing of a raclette dinner. I Googled its history before continuing to read your post so that I could keep up. Very cool!!! Happy November, Christine!!!
Christine: This would have to be your grand kids favorite table setting!! What a great time you all must of had! You are a wonderful Grandmaw! Thanks for sharing.
Christine, I love raclette! My sister in law introduced us to it and we've had it a few times. Always so fun and delicious! Love your tarnished teapot. Thanks for sharing with SYC.
