My stepdaughter and her family who lives in south FL bought a second home in Park City, Utah, because they all love to ski, even the kids. We try to spend a week there with them in the summer and it's almost time to go again so I better post our trip from last year.
John's daughhters are both very fit and both love the outdoors. Kerri and her husband runs all the time and hikes so naturally, that is the first thing she wants us to do too. We hiked a different trail everyday while we were there.
The view was spectacular, everywhere we looked.
But, it's not a true vacation for me without shopping so we frequented downtown too. The little grandkids attended art classes there so we would walk around the shops while waiting for them.
We ate there a lot too, the restaurants and food were really good.
Utah is so kid friendly, they had so many activities for children.
Kerri drove us around the city when we were not hiking. Below is the Olympic Park.
The following morning, we went hiking at the farm trails. See the hill with those trees behind the barn? That's where we hiked.
Even the 3 little grandkids hiked.
Our next hiking destination was the Alpine Trails and we went through the Canyons to go there. The scenery was spectacular!
We rode the gondola to get to the trails. I don't ski so these rides were very exciting for me cause they were all new to me.
We went up really, really high!
Finally got to the Alpine Trail and did our hike.
Simply breathtaking!
After all that activity, we got to have a picnic in the park and watched a concert at night. How do you like the brand of this beer? LOL! Only in Utah!
Kerri's husband Steve, flew from FL in the middle of the week to join us and we all got to go to the Homestead Crater.
The water was very warm and we were watching people go down to scuba dive.
The color of the water is midnight blue.
This bridge was outside the crater.
And this was on top. We were just admiring the view from up here.
Our last hiking was at Sundance Resort, which is owned by Robert Redford. This was my favorite place too. The mountains were just so picturesque.
I said, last hiking, but John and I quit before we got farther. The hiking trail was so narrow and so steep. I am terrified of heights especially if there is no fence or barrier to hold on to, and there wasn't. All I could see was being so up high and the top of the tall pines and trees below. I was holding on so tight to John's back because we had to go single file since the trail was very narrow. I got so nervous but even more nervous seeing the little kids in front of us go on their own that I started having cold sweats and breathing really hard. When we got to a part where the trail curved and we could not see where we were headed to, John decided for me and him to go back. He finally decided to end my misery, lol.
Every now and then, John would tease me and pretend like he was falling. I hate that! LOL!
We took the chairlift to go back to the main part of the resort. That was the best part, seeing the beautiful view from way up. I was nervous but not too much because I could hold on to the rail. We were soooo high!
The resort is really pretty. John and I had so much fun walking leisurely around, while waiting for the youngsters to get back from their hike.
We were pretending to be stars and having a shooting there, lol.
Last but not least, we went to Salt Lake City and toured the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and watched the Mormon Tabernacle Choir rehearse in their huge conference center.
I captured the blue hour.

Looks like fun, Christine! Your pictures are great from this amazing place. I'd love to see this gorgeous place with snow too. How wonderful you can go again and enjoy it together with the family.

Christine, this is just fabulous. I was in Salt Lake once and did see the church, it was breathtaking. Those trails look fun. I love how your family is all about family. Very refreshing. xo marlis
I've only been to Salt Lace City and Park City during the winters. This looks just as wonderful and beautiful without the snow. We love that church and actually watched the Mormon Tabernacle Choir perform - absolutely heavenly. Found you through the Tablescraper link-up. Regards from a fellow Pinay :)
Christine, what an amazing trip. I'd love to visit Park City sometime. Thanks for taking us along and sharing all your photos.
Great photos and I loved seeing them! Thanks for sharing them with us. I love seeing photos like these as I won't be visiting the same places, or go hiking there. I have major issues with heights and confined spaces.
Have a great weekend.
I feel like I got to go on a trip! How fun for you and your family. You guys are so busy with all your family all over the place....wow.
Christine, this is just such a fun post. I have a nephew who worked in Park City one winter (or two) at the ski resort.
I've never been to Utah, but I have some family out west. Maybe I should plan a trip.
Looks like you had a blast!
XO,
Sheila
I have been to Salt Lake many times, but other than that, just driving through. There is a lot to see and do, really a pretty state. Great pictures and sounds like a wonderful trip. Hugs, Marty
That is one part of the country that I haven't seen and from your pictures I can tell I'm really missing something! It is beautiful! All that hiking might be tough, but fun and I'd love to see Sundance. It looks like a wonderful trip.
What great pics! We have friends that go snow skiing in Park City.
Oh Wow, that looks like a super fun trip! Beautiful country side! Have a great weekend Christine! Gina
Christine, I love Park City. Utah is my favorite state and I love the mountains. Several years ago we spent 2 weeks in red rock country. At the end of our trip we hiked in Park City and it was so refreshing to see green and all the wildflowers. it is so beautiful there. We conducted a workshop at the Canyons and it is an amazing place. Thanks for your visit and ind comments. dianne

So many scenic views! I too would be a bit nervous about trekking heights! A great post of what looks like a wonderful experience for you!
"Christine's Home and Travel Adventures" has been included in the A Sunday Drive for this week. Be assured that I hope this helps to point even more new visitors in your direction.
