Cinco de Mayo Fiesta en Mi Casa

It's Thursday and you all know I would not want to miss Tablescape Thursday, a meme hosted by Susan of http://betweennapsontheporch.blogspot.com
It's also Thrifty Thursday hosted by Leigh of
http://lbratina.blogspot.com/. My bird plates are free so that qualifies them as thrifty, right?

I started by spreading a blue and white serape for the tablecloth. Then I added the bromeliad that my friend brought me on my birthday. I really wanted to use the bird plates that I just won from the Tablescaper of http://thetablescaper.blogspot.com/ . After all, there are a lot of birds in Mexico.

I pulled out my bird salad plates. It is very colorful in Mexico and to give it more pop in color, I used my red rooster charger plates. And yes, there are lots of roosters in Mexico too.

The blue taper candle holders are Princess House and I have had them since we lived in Florida. Instead of the green cactus margarita glasses, I opted to use the blue ones. They were selling these in a lot of stores in Mexico but I got mine from TJ Maxx at a much lesser price.

The dinner plates were the ones that I won from The Tablescaper's give away. Aren't they pretty? The salad plates which I already own have the same kind of birds, isn't it?

For flatware, I used the ones with turquoise handles. These are real natural turquoise stones, not plastic, so I really treasure them. I won them on Ebay.

Do you see the kumquats hanging on my tree outside the window?
I bought the Mexican dolls from Costa Maya about 2 years ago. My classmates gave me the Mexican figurine when we had a cruise reunion. I think it was from Cozumel. There was a boy too but my great niece accidentally broke it when she was visiting 2 summers ago. Doesn't she just have the sweetest face?
I can't remember where I got the toucan from.

I just got the rooster wire basket from Ebay. The box says that it is made in the Philippines. I have lived in the Phil. for 21 years and I have never seen one like it there.
The ceramic Villeroy and Boch tea light candle holder is from Grand Cayman.

I used doll napkin rings. I think they look Mexican especially with the rattan wicker ring.
The turquoise bird tealight candle holders are from Crate and Barrel.

Just wanted to show you a new picture of my 2 grandsons. The baby's getting fat, lol. Isn't this a sweet picture? And no, they are not Mexicans, lol!

And lastly, I would like to remind the Mississippi Southern Magnolia Belles to prepare for our upcoming get together in Natchez. Please let me know for sure if you are planning to come so I can start planning the menu and activities. I will be emailing you soon. I am thinking of having brunch.

Thank you all for coming by. Now, don't forget to visit our hostesses and their participants!
Adios amigos!! (for now)
