Thirty Five years ago, I had my first baby girl. She was the most precious one and was the prettiest and pinkest baby girl that you could ever see. I was so happy to hold her in my arms and I could not wait for feeding time. During that time, they only gave you the babies at feeding time. So much have changed since then cause now that my babies have babies of their own, the baby stays in the room with the family all the time. Rochelle is the first one who gave me my first granddaughter, AJ. So that is a double blessing.
Happy birthday, Rochelle! I love you very much! I hope you have a wonderful birthday celebration. I am so sorry, I cannot join you this time but we will celebrate again next week when I see you.
How do you like the blue pant suit that little Rochelle is wearing below? She emailed me saying she likes it even though she does not really remember it. I actually made it myself. I used to sew a lot when she was small.
Now, it's time to go sightseeing again. Last week I showed you part of our trip to Seattle, our meeting with Vanna and her Michael. I showed that first because it was the highlight of our trip.
Today, let's go to the hotel and it's surroundings, particularly the Pike Market.

Ok, now on to our trip. We arrived at the airport around noon. I thought the airport was a little confusing compared to other airports that I have been but we finally got our bags, found the shuttle who took us to the hotel.
I was really impressed with how beautiful the city is, the mountains, the water and the tall buildings. It sure is a lot different from what I am accustomed to since our tallest building here is only 5 stories high, lol.
This is the view from our hotel room, which was on the 32nd floor.
We upgraded right away to have access to Club Lounge so we can have free breakfast and oer d'ouvres. I knew John would be in meetings a lot and I don't like walking and eating alone out there.

Is that the Pacific Ocean?
This is the view from Club Lounge. I wanted to take that orchid home, and yes it was real.
The hotel was located right on Pike St. so we just had to walk 5 blocks to go to Pike Market, which is pretty famous. Just look at these fresh fruits and seafood! And do you see those gigantic garlic? And they say you could only find big things in Texas?
I was tempted to take some of these dried flowers home but I knew they would only get crushed in my luggage.
John is such a nice guy. He always manages to find something he knows I would enjoy. The Pike Market has about 4 or 5 floors and in one of the floors in the basement is this Polish Pottery store. I have never seen so much in one store! I don't know how John found out about it but I was so excited to see it. OMG! Look at all those Polish pottery! I was in pottery heaven! So many different designs and colors but they all have that basic cobalt blue color.
We bought a few divided plates and goblets and had them delivered but they have not arrived. I will post them when they come.
After the dish store, we walked around some more and saw this bronze pig. I thought I would take a picture for Lynn ( http://happierthanapiginmud.blogspot.com/). So Lynn, this is for you!
There were so many good places to eat. Both John and I like pho and it was cold especially after walking several blocks so we had pho. The next day, we walked again and again had pho. The next day, we walked again and John asked me, "Pho?" LOL! I said no, let's try something else, so we headed to Thai Ginger and had thai food. I had a whole fried trout with mango salad. It was so good!
Seattle's streets are full of entertainers so you could never get bored walking around.
Well, time to get back to the hotel. My feet were starting to kill me and it was really getting chilly.
And here's the view from the hotel room at night. Do you like my silhouette? I'm like a ghost on top of Seattle's buildings, lol.

Hi C, I loved seeing a pict. of you holding your brand new baby. I have a son the same age and it was so long ago and yet it seems as if it could have been a year ago at times. You were and ARE still a true beauty and so is Rochelle, happy Bday to her!! Kathysue
Happy Birthday to Rochelle...you look like such a very young girl in the hospital picture! And Rochelle is a true beauty. I hope she has a marvelous day.
I enjoyed the tour of Seattle. We were there a few years ago, but just for the day, so all we really saw was Pike Market, and not as much as you did! What is pho...I am curious. A fish? I was thinking that you deserve to have a Pike Market in Natchez since you are so good at cooking fish!
Thanks so much for the tour...I'm glad you had such a great time.
XO,
Jane
Dear God in Heaven! I thought you were in your 20's! I officially hate you! :)
Great photos-thanks for showing us Seattle.
Seattle is on my list of places I really want to go...but, since I don't fly, it will be a very long trip. I think we may wait until after hubby retires so we can do other things out that way while we are there. It looks like a wonderful city. I loved seeing all the pictures. That market looks great!
Happy Birthday to Rochelle and it looks like a wonderful trip.
Happy Birhday to your sweet daughter! Well Christine, it looks like you and John had a great time! John should have taken a picture of your face when you first walked into the Polish Pottery store! that would have been priceless!
Happy Pink Saturday Christine Sweetie...
Happy Birthday to Rochelle as well. She is beautiful just like her mother. A gorgeous share and I so love taking the trip along to Seattle with you. I love the bronze pig photo, that one is priceless and I am sure that Lynn will love it as well.
I truly thought your silhouette in the glass window was beautiful. Truly a picture to remember and a site to see out the looking glass.

The water body you were viewing from your hotel (Great view BTW!) was Puget Sound. It connects to the Pacific Ocean. I didn't even know we had that polish pottery store at the market! I usually end up going to my favorite places on the first and second floors. And isn't pho yummy?! I could eat it everyday! Great tour girlfriend! *winks* Vanna

I'm so glad you were able to visit Seattle, Christine. I love the city and particularly Pike Place Market. My husband's best friend from school lives there. We visited a few times, once when my son was 6 weeks old for his wedding. (What was I thinking?) Lovely photos. I'm not sure if you visited the street of dreams. We took his boat and rode around to look at the homes from the water. Thanks so much for sharing and bringing back great memories.
I'm still visiting around PS posts. Have a wonderful week!
Christine, you look like a baby holding your new baby! What cute photos. When I saw the photo of the Polish pottery on the thumbnail on my blog, I thought, oh my! Christine has really found some great place to store all of her china! LOL! What a fabulous place to visit. Your photos are beautiful, and I can just imagine how exciting it was to walk into that Polish pottery place! Thanks so much for linking to Favorite Things. laurie

Hi Christine, Happy Birthday to your "baby" girl! That pantsuit is so cute on her. I have never been to Seattle but it is on my list of places to see, so I really enjoyed your tour! What is pho? I have no idea! But I do love trout and mangoes. And I can't believe all that Polish Pottery in one place! It looks like there were other goodies in that store, too! (I clicked on your pictures to enlarge so I wouldn't miss anything!) Thanks for the tour! And enjoy your time with your daughter next week. This makes me miss my baby girl too--she is away at school. Hi Mama, Thank you for the post and birthday greetings from you and all of your friendly blog buddies. My birthday weekend was awesome - as quality time with Derek, A.J., those cutie pie nephews, and my siblings always are. Wish you were with us, though! We can't wait to see you in 2 weeks for Nathan's 1st birthday! You'll have a hard time going home to MS. A.J. and I struggle leaving those babies every time, and we're only 2 1/2 hrs away. LOL Love and miss you so much! See you soon! xoxoxoxoxo
