Fruits of My Labor

I would like to remind you to sign up for my giveaway, if you haven't yet. Today is the last day! Click on the button on the right side bar to enter. I decided to link with Finding Beauty, which is hosted by Claudia at http://www.dipityroad.com/ and Fertilizer Friday, which is being hosted by Glenda at
I love working in the yard because everyday, I see new blooms and new life. Every plant in the garden is looking very healthy. I think it is because this is the longest summer that I have been home so I am able to water the plants regularly. I water them in the morning and late afternoon.
We have a lot of potted plants on the pool deck. I think this is John's favorite. I like it too! Look how tall the ornamental cabbage is!
I think this is an Asian iris. My friend dug it out when pool men were digging out for the pool, and planted it in a pot. It has really grown since.
Our day lilies came back from last year and are blooming now. We have orange, red and yellows.

This is the veggie garden after I planted some herbs, tomatoes and peppers. The rosemarie's been there since last year. It lived through the winter time.
Look at it now!
I went around today taking pictures of the tomatoes and there are a lot of them though not quite red yet.
Aren't those tomatoes just beautiful? I hope they get ripe before my grandkids and Janie visit at the end of the month. I think the kids will have a lot of fun picking them and Janie, I and hubbies can eat fresh tomatoes. These are cajun tomatoes.

Cherry tomatoes.

Do you see how big the grape vine has grown since I last posted it?

And lots of tiny grapes are all over it.
I hope you enjoyed seeing a little part of the garden. BTW, I found a "My Secret Garden" sign. I had it custom made by Paula at http://www.castleandcottage.blogspot.com/ You should go check out her Etsy shop. She is very creative and so talented! I can't wait to get and hang it on my secret garden's retaining wall. Thank you all for your visit.
And thanks to our lovely hostesses, Glenda and Claudia, for hosting these 2 fun events! Go over and visit them and their participants to see more.

Your gardening skills overwhelm me. Just so many different colors and textures to look at. The beautiful blue of the pool contrasts perfectly. I LOVE tomatoes.... I lived on them through four pregnancies!

Your gardens and flowers are lovely Christine! I've never heard of Cajun tomatoes before. You'll be enjoying them this summer, I can tell.

By the way, here's wishing you a belated Happy Birthday! Take care and I'll be around again soon.

How exciting to be seeing fruits and veggies so early. I'm still about 10 days away from even putting them in the ground.
