A Little Frenchy With Delamere Bouquet

My eyes have been glued to the TV watching Hurricane Dorian coverage and it is getting pretty depressing, so I thought I would do something I enjoy doing for a change. And what would that be but to tablescape….yea!

I pulled out my Spode Delamere Bouquet Dinnerware set from the family room buffet cabinet and here they are! I don't think I have ever set a table with these before.
I just gathered anything with a little purple around the house and came out with this as a centerpiece. The topiary made it seem Frenchy so that became my theme.

Don't you just love the face of the bust? She is so pretty and delicate.

I think I bought this round crocheted tablecloth from Grand Cayman. There is a linen store there that John and I never miss whenever we go there.

I love the color of these plates. I think purple is a good transition color from summer to fall.

I told you it's Frenchy:-)

I have not posted for such a long time and I hope to visit a lot of my friends. Let's pray for everyone in the hurricane's path. Please stay safe if you are one of them.

Thank you for those hosting these parties.

Happy Independence Day, 2019

Happy Independence Day!

First of all, I would like to thank our servicemen for all that they do for us and for our country and for keeping us safe. Thank you so much! You are all very much appreciated.

Now, let's go to the tablescape. I decided to use the plates that my sister Fe gave me many, many years ago. I spotted them in the garage and the bin was labeled, 4th of July, so it was easy for me to access them. Unfortunately, I am still not organized in the garage so it's not that easy for me to find the dinnerware that I want to use sometimes.

But, the bin where these were kept was just on the garage floor, waiting to be used.

I opted to use my bike napkin holders since they have the right colors: red, white and blue.

The S & P shakers are Polish pottery in peacock pattern.

America is truly the home of the brave. I really believe that!

So there it is! I pretty much just used what I have in the bin. I hope you like my patriotic table. It's been a while since I created a tablescape. I really should do more but I have been so busy gardening.

I hope you all have an enjoyable and safe holiday. Thank you for stopping by!

Velentine's Day Table, 2019

This is my first tablescape on this new old table that I just bought. I bought the whole set, round table and 7 chairs for $99. I painted them afterwards and you will see the newly painted ones in the last pictures.

We used to have a square table with 4 chairs here. If you have read my blog in the past, you would know that my daughter and her family live next door and that we alternate preparing dinners, so every other day, all seven of us eat here. The 3 grandkids used to eat on the kitchen counter but now we get to all eat together.

I used salad plates and soup bowls since we had shrimp toast, chicken noodle soup using bean noodles and cranberry rolls.

I bought the plate chargers from Wisteria many years ago.
For the kids, I used various heart plates.

Cherubs or should I say cupid, for napkin rings.
 My centerpiece!

I alternated the cupid napkin rings with these red beaded ones.

This was our old dinette set that I am donating to Salvation Army.
This is the set that I just bought before I painted it. It is solid wood and in perfect condition. I told John that this set really belongs to us because I couldn't believe we were able to fit all these pieces in the back of our SUV. Also, when advertised, it said table with 6 chairs. The seller loaded the chairs while I rearranged them to fit in the vehicle and did not really count them but when we unloaded them, there were actually 7 chairs, so again, perfect for us.

Here is he set now after I painted 5 of the chairs, 2 more to go! I found a paint and stain from Rethunk Junque, that do not require sanding, so stained (dark walnut) and painted (linen) right in this area.

Thank you so much for stopping by. Happy Valentine's Day to all!
