Can't Wait for Fall

I know it's early but it's terribly still hot and humid here in Florida. Maybe blogging with fall colored Polish pottery will make me feel cooler.  Wishful thinking?

Anyway, I pulled out my Polish pottery plates with orange in them, which I think make them somewhat fall-ish.
The orange flatware set was given to me one Christmas by my son and daughter in law. They're perfect for Fall.
I just cut some flowers from the garden, mostly santan flowers, also known as ixora and jungle flame, and some white pentas to put in my little ducky vase, for the centerpiece.

I even dugged out my PP pumpkins from the garage. Their faces are cut out on the other side.

Isn't this server/baker pretty? I love it! It's probably the most expensive single Polish pottery I bought, but I couldn't resist. I swore to myself after we moved to Florida and downsized, that I wouldn't buy anymore.  But, this pandemic is making me crazy and bored and it forces me to browse and watch live polish pottery shows. Their beauty is just so enticing and I really cannot blame myself cause I am but just human.
Besides, I don't go anywhere so I save a lot from not buying clothes, shoes and makeup, lol.
I've had these glasses with maple leaves from many years ago. They were only from the Dollar Store. I have Polish pottery stemware too but I thought of using these instead.

Now, you can see the faces on the PP pumpkins, standard peacock and mosquito (sometimes they call it nature) patterns.

I hope you enjoyed my Fall tablescape, it's more like a transition from summer. Thanks for stopping by! Enjoy the rest of your summer. I know it is starting to cool off in the northern regions. Enjoy it and please stay safe, everyone!

The Baby of the Family, Avery Grace

I better blog about our littlest granddaughter before she becomes a teen-ager, lol. Introducing Avery Grace, born October 3, 2019.

She was a big baby at 8 lbs considering how petite her mom is.
Her big sister, Reese, was so happy, after having 2 big brothers, she finally has a sister.
Her mom and I did zumba until 2 weeks before Avery was born. In the beginning, the baby could not sleep and just cried. We had to dance with her and do lunges continuously while holding her, before she could fall asleep. It was very tiring. Good thing, we were 4 people who took turns, her mom, dad, big brother and me.
Avery's baptism.

Now, she is the happiest baby. You just look at her and she smiles :-). Her brothers and sister dote on her.

She only cries when you say "NO" to her, lol! Awww, poor baby!
She is getting big too fast. I hope she slows down because I think she will be the last baby of the family.
I am glad I got to finally post my grandbaby's pictures.
Thank you for stopping by. You all stay safe.

A Tablescape Using Polish Pottery Square Plates

I'm back again after such a long time. Anyway, I was inspired to do a tablescape using my square Polish pottery dinner and salad plates and I hope you enjoy looking at it as much as I enjoyed creating it.

I have been so out of touch and I hope you are all safe from the covid 19 pandemic.

I thought I would use my various blue and white ceramic balls in a cloche, since they blend so well with the dishes, as part of the centerpiece.
I am only showing a close up of a few of the plates or I would have too many pictures. I don't really want to bore you, lol.

These stemware are Polish pottery too. I saw them in Seattle at the marketplace. Did I enjoy browsing at that PP store! Hubby just had a medical meeting there and we happen to stumble upon the store while exploring the city. I bought 9 (1 extra, in case I break one, according to John). I had them shipped to the house because I was afraid to break any during the flight.
I love the bubbles on the glass.

This napkin ring is Polish pottery also but the one below, which I bought from Budapest, Hungary is wood.

I just love this tray! I love the colors and the pattern.
 Lastly, let's have some tea!
Thank you so much for your visit. I hope I can get to visit you all too. Being home all the time should make that possible. Please you all stay safe!!!

Budapest, Hungary, Aug. 2015

It's been a while since I blogged about my travels, so do not be surprised if I am blogging about a trip we took in August of 2015. I just realized it is easier for me to find pictures that I want by searching on my blog, but of course they  have to be there first. So, since I am staying home due to the Covid 19 pandemic, I know I have more time to blog. I am therefore, restarting to blog about travels, my intent is to archive my travels and travel photos so I can easily access them. They will not be in order, I hope you don't mind.
We were so fortunate to be there during their most important and popular holiday, St. Andrew's Day, who is their patron saint. There were people everywhere, just walking around. Vehicles were blocked so we were able to walk around safely. Festivals were everywhere, food, parades, processions, music, entertainments, you name it!
We took a Viking River Cruise on the Aegir stopping at various countries and Budapest was our last stop. where we checked into the Marriott's Hotel overlooking the Buda Castle across the Danube River, and stayed there for 2 days. The city is breathtaking, I thought I was looking at another Paris.
John and I traveled with family and friends, particularly my sisters Fe and Tessie and nephew Jonjet and his wife, Lourdes.

Below is St. Andrew's Church where John and I posed.
We walked around leisurely with my sister, Tessie and a friend from Hawaii, Judith.

How I miss the time when John could still walk fast and we did not have to haul an electronic scooter with us, where ever we went. But we are very thankful that we are still able to travel.

This was a place where a lot of eateries were and we had lunch almost across that big Budapest sign. Of course, we had to take pictures first.

We must be approaching the hotel since I see the Buda Castle.
I am so in love with their famous exquisite china, Herend. Nope, not buying this time. Our 4 luggage were all already up to the weight limit that I had to leave our toiletries behind.
Beautiful view at night
Spectacular view to wake up to every morning while having my coffee.

We toured, ate and shopped at the Marketplace, so huge and so crowded!
The Marketplace is behind us and my sister Fe can't wait to go inside, lol. She is a shopping addict.
Of course, we had to visit the famous Hero's Square, noted for its iconic statue complex featuring the 7 chieftains of the Magyars and other Hungarian national heroes.

Good thing we brought our Marriott elite member card and we were able to upgrade our room to a high floor and we had access to the top floor which offered free snacks and an open view of the city. We took advantage of that during their awesome display of fireworks. We were even able to bring my sisters up there.
Chain Bridge showing the Parliament in the background.

We enjoyed the fireworks at night

I hope you enjoyed a mini tour of Budapest. Thank you for stopping by. Stay safe always!
