Small Tablescape with Peacocks

My favorite day of the week, Thursday is here again. Tablescape Thursday is hosted by Susan at http://betweennapsontheporch.blogspot.com/. Come and join her too, it's a lot of fun!
I did not think I could participate today because I am still trying to catch my breathe from the trip, unpacking, cleaning, doing laundry and organizing. And mostly because I went shopping all day today in Monroe, which is 2 hrs away from home, with my friends Nit and Doris.
But I don't really want to miss one of my favorite memes so I went into high gear and put this together in 10 min. It took me longer to take the pictures, lol!
To get it done faster, I decided to set it on the little game table in the family room in front of the fireplace (can't have any fire now though cause it's too hot).

I decided to have a peacock theme going so I took the 2 peacock candle holders from the living room, the peacock figurine from the bookshelf and the peacock napkin ring holders.
I used a turquoise bird tea candle holder as a salt cellar instead. I brought the birds and mini ceramic spoons from Crate and Barrel from our recent Chicago trip. I got the idea of using just about anything small for a salt cellar from Bargainhunting Laurie! I took out my turquoise goblets which I almost forgot I own, lol.
I took out my green runner with embroideries which I thought mimicked peacock feather colors.

Isn't he regal? He is pewter.
The dinner plates I got from a thrift store for a $1 each and they are made in Portugal. The salad plates I bought from Amazon. com a while back and they were manufactured by Spode. I bought the placemats today from TJ Maxx in Monroe. I think they have the peacock colors, don't you? They were on clearance for $1 each. I did not use plate chargers.
The salad plates come in 4 different pattern and colors but I only used 2 for this simple tablescape.

I hope you enjoyed this post. Thanks for visiting and thanks to Susan for taking the time to host this fun event.

Hi Christine! Your tablescape is gorgeous! I LOVE those plates! I did think of you when I photographed the peacock napkin ring! I think it isn't the same one as yours, though. The peacock is looking back. Did you see the peacock tray in my Met Monday post? I thought about you again when I bought it!! Have a great weekend!!...hugs...Debbie

Wow! Look at all of your attention to detail with this tablesetting! And I think you did a good job carrying through with your peacock theme. Your flatware reminds me of the "eyes" on the peacock's tail. Just very clever, Christine!

Hi Christine,

I really like this a lot. I think I should make my tablescapes easier by just pretending it is me and Al and not set the whole table! Or I can pretend he is working late and set it for one!! ;-D

The peacock theme is great~I love the blue and green and I really like the dishes you got on Amazon. The flatware is pretty too.

I recognize the blue candleholder and spoon, I think I may have one hidden around here...

I hope you are having good weather. It is finally nice here. I have been both busy and wasting time~is that possible? Abby graduates Sunday so the holiday weekend will be all about that. I am so excited and will post pictures!

Take care, my friend!

xoxo
