Pool Slide's Big Ice Glob

It's Wednesday and I am excited to join Susan of http://asoutherndaydreamer.blogspot.com/ because I want to show you the biggest icycle that I have ever seen. For more interesting outdoor pictures, don't forget to visit Susan and her participants.
I am also linking with Watery Wednesday at http://waterywednesday.blogspot.com/ for the first time. We came home last Sunday night and John went to the backyard and called me, told me to hurry and for me to bring my camera. Actually the picture below is the one I took the next day.
This is what dh saw when he went to check the pool, this big glob of ice at the bottom of the pool slide. I am surprised the water froze because it is running continuously. And doesn't it resemble Santa Claus with his long white beard?
The pictures below were taken without flash. We have turned the pool heater on and the sun has been shining during the day but as of today, the ice has not melted.

I hope you enjoyed seeing Santa's ice head, lol. Thanks for coming and thanks Susan, for hosting another week of Outdoor Wednesday.

That's amazing Christine! It must be really frigid there for running water to freeze. Poor Santa, he probably thought he would spend some time in Mississippi and stay warm - quite a shock! Thanks for the visit, if you ever do make it to Austin look me up, we'll have a ball! Kathy

Oh, how strange. It does look like Santa. Thankfully it doesn't resemble Jesus or the Virgin Mary, or you would have a line of people down your street! lol!!

Happy Outdoor Wednesday!

That is Cold!! I took pictures of a fountain yesterday, but did not get them uploaded in time to post this time - maybe next week. It is amazing how water freezes in mid air like that.
Stay warm.

Oh my, I hope it didn't do any damage! My niece in North Carolina said they had frozen pipes. The south isn't supposed to be this cold.

So funny, it looks just like Santa!

I'm sorry, it was 70 degrees here today!

You're lucky that the weight didn't break the slide.

Oh my, goodness! All the way down south! In our ski village there is a natural fountain that freezes at least two stories high and looks just like that. As it gets farther along in the winter, and the tower of ice gets taller, it also appears blue. Very impressive!

Okay, off to catch up on other posts and see where you have been. You travel for me while I am snowbound in Vermont. (and, thank you, btw, lol!)

How, funny! I'm pretty sure I wouldn't want to be swimming if it's cold enough to do that!

That's amazing! Hope they would melt soon for you!

There is just something so wrong about an open pool and ice like that. The weather is simply crazy isn't it? It really is pretty...at least you know it won't last at your house!

That does look like Santa! I can see his face sticking out right above the beard! Our waterfall has never frozen! Last year, when we had the ice storm, we lost power before it froze, so it wasn't running. I had drained some water from the pool the day before we got this freeze, and I drained too much water. There wasn't enough pressure to keep the waterfall running more than a trickle during the night. It was frozen the next morning, and so was our outdoor faucet, so I couldn't put any water in the pool. It did thaw out today though. laurie

Hope it defrosts soon. Much warmer today here in Atlanta and the sun is shining brightly. I guess the photos will be refreshing to look at when it is summer:) Oh how I hope summer comes here quickly:)
