Krewe of Mer Mardi Gras Ball, 2012

Together again.....Debjani and me!

Last Saturday, I took a little break from cleaning the house and partied. We got an invitation to a formal Mardi Gras ball and we more than gladly obliged.

Mrs. Kumi in the center was our hostess.
All the tables were all decorated very nicely, festively and so colorful. I will share a few here.

This was my favorite!

This was our table, simple but beautiful and we got to take the glasses, napkins and beads home. You will see them on my mardi gras table at home.
Below is where I was seated, right across the hospital administrator and his wife. Do you know how hard it was to keep a conversation going? It would have been easier if they were dishaholics too, lol!

We enjoyed the wonderful shows and the band.
And we danced the night away! Literally, cause when we got back to the table, everybody was gone, lol!
John lost a lot of weight, didn't he? Must have missed my cooking, lol. No, actually he has been on a diet since before I left.
My friends and me.... I was happy to be with them again cause I really missed them while I was gone.
Party's over and back to cleaning!
I hope you enjoyed my Mardi Gras post. I appreciate your visits!

I resume my Sightseeing and Events Saturday.

What a beautiful party. I could see why you would want to go. The decorations are elaborate, most have taken hours. John looks great. Thanks for sharing. Richard from My old Historic House.

How fun and festive, Christine!! Yes, it would have been much easier to carry on a conversation with people with the same interests, like dishes! :-)
Wow- your John looks like he's well on the road to a healthier life~ Good for him! I want his secret.... I think my problem is hormonal. LOL

That was fun! Looks like a school auditorium? I like the table you picked, but it reminded me of Halloween. Yours was the traditional colors. Glad you had a good time, now get to work!

Oh, what a "ball" you had my friend! You look so pretty and elegant and Jonhn does look so skinny! I hate the way men lose weight so fast! Beautiful decorations for Mardi Gras, I like that purple look, I never did anything in purple and don't even have!! Take it easy with the cleaning. Happy weekend for you both.

What a fun ball! We were going down to NO to visit Trip's family this weekend, but we cancelled our trip due to the bad storms they are expecting tomorrow. They have postponed all of tomorrow's parades, apparently.

Oh what fun this must have been. I love Marti Gras and my SIL is from there. I was in New Orleans for a convention last August and had a similar dress up ball. The tables were FABULOUS--my favorite is last one I think. Thanks for sharing such beautiful photos.
