Red, White and BLue!

Red, white and blue!

"I Love you"

We used to say that rhyme while jumping rope when I was small, lol. Sorry for getting side tracked. It just came to me after reading my title.

Hello Friends, let's dish!!
I hope you all had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend. I missed you last week. You know I am extremely busy when I don't join tablescape parties. We just got back from Atlanta last Wednesday, took me awhile to unpack and before even getting completely done, we left for Pensacola on Saturday to visit John's dad. We are back home and now I am very busy preparing for my reunion with 8 College friends, who are all arriving from all over US and Canada and one coming all the way from the Philippines. They are staying here and I have prepared an agenda for a whole week's activites. It will be very hectic but lots of fun for sure! So if I am not visiting, you know why.

Anyway, I was able to create this for Memorial Day before leaving for Pensacola.

I gathered some of my patriotic stuff from the garage and I had enough without going to the attic. I decided to use my vintage enamelware dishes. They are light and easy to handle.

I used my vintage lace placemats. I thought they look very Americana with the tin enameled dishes.

I bought the patriotic solid wood eggs from Lynne of http://www.networkedblogs.com/blog/lynnesgiftsfromtheheart last year. I finally got to use them. They would probably look better altogether in a big bowl but I wanted to use my red, white and blue tin pails. I added the air plants I bought from West Elm in Atlanta as a finishing touch.

The flag tray was on clearance, either on Williams Sonoma or Sur La Table, I can't remember. It's wood and it's quite large. I bought it last year.

Pewter always has a vintage look to me too so I used an S & P in that material.

Thank you for stopping by. I always enjoy your visits.

I am linking to these wonderful ladies and their fun memes. Thanks for all your dedicated work!

Great call on the pewter S&Ps for this Americana look, Christine! This is a really fun table, especially because of the dishes you used. Oh, how I miss my enamelware!!! I sold it when I sold my shop, and I wish I could get it back!!! It's so expensive now compared to when I bought it years and years ago! Yours looks fantastic, and it speaks loudly and clearly of its roots. Sounds like you are going to be even busier than usual in the coming weeks. I hope you have a great time with your friends and that the reunion is everything you hoped it would be. I wonder how John is going to survive a large group of women like that! Even if he's only there for a minute or two, he'll probably want to run and hide!!! :-) Take care, and have fun!!!

Great table - love the red, white and blue and those fabulous salt and pepper shakers. Also, loved following your travels. I live near Atlanta and my grandmother lived in Pensacola - spent many a fun day at Pensacola Beach on Santa Rosa Island. Hope you had fun!

I so love the look and feel of the enamel wear. You remind me to pull mine out. You have quite the collection, but by now i shouldn't be surprised!

I have that flatware in black but have never seen it in blue. Do you mind me asking where you got it? It's quite lovely.

Have fun with your college buddies. Do share your agenda!

Wonderfully patriotic table, Christine. Love the candle glow with the red, white, and blue.
You are such a busy lady, and now hosting 8 friends in your home for a week. Where do you get your energy?
Have a great time! I know you've got a fun agenda planned.

It looks great, Christine! I love the blue covered bowls.
Wow, that's a long time to have guests! I had my college friends here for 4 days, that was long enough, esp for dh!
They keep asking when we are going to do it again! Umm, never, at least not here. So many meals to cook and serve! One is allergic to this, another can't eat that! Oy!
Have fun!

I'm impressed that you did a table. It seems that when I get busy (or distracted, or unhappy) the first thing that goes is the blog because I simply can't feel creative at the same time! I love how this table turned out...the centerpiece is great and I love the flatware!

I'm sure you will have a great time with your friends...so lucky to have stayed in touch like this!
