A New Gift: A Set of Dishes

A friend of mine asked me to alter, shorten a pair of jeans for her. She insisted on paying me but I refused. Next thing I know, she was bringing me a whole set of china. I guess everybody around here knows I cannot refuse dishes, being a dishaholic, lol.

Aren't they pretty? She said she bought them from a swap shop and they were only displayed in a china cabinet, which I can believe because they did not look used at all, no utensil marks nor any chip. They were all perfect and it was a complete service for 8 with a completer set of sugar and cream servers, a vegetable bowl, and a chop plate. They were manufactured by Gibson.

I think they will make a pretty Christmas or Asian table.

Thank you so much,  Bhel! I will definitely make use of them.  And you can bring me more pants to alter, lol.
I will have to wait till I come back to create a tablescape with them. As you can see in the background, I have a luggage ready that I need to accompany for a trip. So if I don't visit you back, that is the reason why. I will catch up when I get back. Hope you all have a nice week or weeks! Thanks for stopping by!

You were so lucky Christine, what a great friend! Oh she certainly knows you! Yes, they will look great come C'mas and for an Asian tablescape with red chargers, or even black ones! Hope all is well with you and yours.

I can't believe you're off on another trip! I think I'd forget where I was. LOL!

Your new set is great. I can see you mixing and matching it and accenting with solid red or green for a great effect.

That looks like Christmas china-lovely. Sorry I haven't visited in a while, I have almost stopped blogging-for some reason people stopped visiting and commenting on my posts-don't know why. I figure if nobody is going to comment/visit why waste my time. I hope all of your family is o.k. in the typhoon!

Christine you are such a dear and we have been blog friends for so long, I must ask you if your family and friends in the Philippines are ok. That is a frightening situation. God Bless you.
The dishes are lovely and I hope your trip you mention was in the USA.

The set of dishes are really nice, esp. the cups--I like it so much. What makes trip more fun are the memories and souvenirs, sharing and giving. Why travel? Just simply, travelling is indeed a worthwhile experience.
