Post Thanksgiving Luncheon, 2017

Thanksgiving is now behind us and we are now looking forward to Christmas. I hope you all had a nice one and you got to spend it with family.

John and I spent it with his side of the family and were stuffed with delicious food. My 3 kids all had a different plan for Thanksgiving Day so they all decided to come over the weekend after to celebrate with us with a luncheon on Sunday. By then, we were all turkeyed out so my son suggested for us not to prepare turkey anymore, instead, he would bring fish and will cook it. He also cooked noodles and my son in law grilled some pork, chicken and shrimp. My other daughter made a veggie casserole. I got to take a break from cooking which was so nice. I just set the table and prepared a tea party for the kids for dessert on the back porch.

Below was the kids' table using Better Homes and Garden's Christmas salad plates. They ate on the breakfast table.

And this was the adult's table. The guys did a good job cooking. Everything was so delicious!

I set the back porch table for the tea party and the grand girls couldn't wait to get started.
The weather was perfect! The grandkids were even able to go swimming eating.

We had coconut cream pie, raspberry pie, banana bread, cupcakes brought by Tina's friend, Greta and various cookies baked my daughter in law, Becky. For tea, we had Whittard of Chelsea's mango/promeganate and Turkish Apple Teas.

The boys were playing with neighbors so they invited them over for tea and dessert too. We had plenty to pass around.
Granddaughter Reese and Rea enjoyed the tea and sweets for sure!
We had a very nice luncheon and visit but sadly, they had to drive back home after, because the girls are going back to school tomorrow.

Thank you so much for visiting!

YUM, the food sounds so good. Love the pictures. Those little salad plates are adorable. I know the kids had a ball with their tea party and how sweet to invite the neighbors. Hugs and blessings, Cindy

I could just KICK myself for waiting too late to get in on the Better Homes & Gardens plate collection!!! I just joined in this year, but I see patterns on your table that are so, so cute like the Santa in his sleigh being pulled by a reindeer! I'll have to keep my eyes open at thrift stores and estate sales! Your family sure knows how to party!!! The food looks fantastic, and it looks like everyone had a great time!

Sounds like you had two wonderful Thanksgivings.......always so nice when we can get together with our children even
if it is not on the actual day........just as long as we get to see them!
Loved all your tables.....love the christmas plates, they are adorable. What a great idea the tea party table was...looks like all the children enjoyed that.....
All your grandchildren and their friends were so cute, a very nice looking group of youngsters.

Christine, everything is so beautiful. You may have taken a break from cooking, but not from tablescaping! Sounds like such a delightful day.
