Outdoor Tea Party with Grandkids

It's been a while since I had a tea party with the grandkids who live next door. It's been a while too since I blogged. I think I have just been lazy and been goofing off too much. Anyway, they have been bugging me to have one, so I promised we will have one on Saturday when they are off school.  Saturday came and they called so early to find out what time we were having it. They must have really missed our tea parties, lol.

It is finally cooling off somewhat here in Florida so I decided to hold it outside. Reese is always excited to help me pick what tea set to use and I welcome the help very much.

We used a German Villeroy and Boch set in Twist Alea Limone pattern. I added English Whittard of Chelsea's strawberry and vanilla tea in it, Reese's choice. They loved it cause they drank it all.

My tea cups that match the Alea set are in the garage and I was too lazy to dig, instead, I used my Henriot Quimper cups and saucers, that are more easily accessible, since I store them in the dining room china cabinet. I think the colors blend nicely.

Either the cookies were too good or the kids were so hungry cause they disappeared very fast, lol!

Aren't they looking so happy? They are so precious and such good kids!
My Reese is growing too fast!
The boys, Brendan and Nathan, are getting bigger too.

We had a great time, I am glad I succumbed to their wishes.
Brendan was looking up cause there was a frog and a lizard on the umbrella pole. I think they were jealous and wanted to join us, lol.

I did not know, John was taking pictures of us.

Thanks for stopping by. I always appreciate your visits. Thanks to our hostesses of these memes.

Dinner with German Friends and Family

I finally got over my colds and cough which seemed like forever and I was in the mood to cook and entertain, so I invite my daughter, our German friends and their families to come over for dinner.

I used my gray, oval Portuguese made CMG dinnerware in "Sari" pattern for the adult table.
I gathered a few mercury silver stuff I have at home and cut up some flowers from the garden to create the centerpiece.

I love the oval shape and the subtle design on the plates. When John saw the table, he mentioned that we have never used these plates. Not true, I have used them once, when we entertained an Australian doctor and his wife in Natchez. If you want to see that table, here it is, Australia in Natchez

Crystal pineapple S & P shakers

I served baked salmon, rice and beef stew that I cooked in my new instant pot. I asked my daughter to bring Caesar salad.
Aren't my supposedly "helpers" just too cute?
The desserts.... I had no butter to make icing for a cake and I knew I wouldn't have time to go to the grocery, so I decided to try to make a chiffon flan cake. It turned out really good. Natascha, our German neighbor, brought those yummy individual orange cakes.

Polish pottery for the youngsters
Here are some of our young guests.

And some more. Unfortunately, I forgot to take a picture of the adults. Darn!!
I used a silver plated tea set for our tea.

Thanks again for stopping by. Here are a few memes I am linking with. Thank you for the parties!

Dinner for my College Colleagues, May 14, 2018

I had entered this on my blog hoping to publish it in a few days from then, but my mother got ill and we had to fly to Illinois to see her, but she passed away so fast that we did not see her alive. We are thankful that she went peacefully and not suffer. She was tired. She was 2 months short of her 100th birthday. Rest in peace, mama. I love you always and forever!
Anyway, we had very nice services for her in Illinois and now we are taking her ashes to be buried next to my father in the Philippines.

I thought I would publish this before we left.

This beachy tablescape was set for my friends from College who visited us a few weeks ago.

I just gathered beachy stuff from around the house, mostly from the master bathroom where I have shells and coastal décor surrounding the Jacuzzi tub.
I used a fish net table runner instead of a tablecloth.

The capiz plate chargers were bought from Pier 1 many years ago.

Shell napkin holders
Starfish S & P shakers

I served seafood paella, salmon and grilled ribs and of course, rice.

And there they are..... my happy guests! We had so much fun reminiscing days gone by!

The desserts: macaroons and coconut pandan

Tea in my Nippon Toki Kasha tea seat

Thanks so much for stopping by. And thanks to all the parties I am I am linking with:
