Blue Antique Store Finds and Master Shower Reno

Monday is another day for fun memes, Blue Monday, which is hosted by Sally of http://smilingsally.blogspot.com/ and Metamorphosis Monday, hosted by Susan of http://betweennapsontheporch.blogspot.com/. Be sure to visit these 2 gracious ladies to view more blues and great renos.
I found these blue and white covered dish and salt and pepper shakers from an antique shop in Destin during the 4th of July weekend. The dish was $12 and the S & P shaker was $6.

For Met. Mon., I thought I would show you our master bath. When I saw this house, I fell in love with it right away even though the shower in the master bath had cracks on the ceiling and wall. We were told it could have been because the shower has a hot steam and the extreme heat must have cracked the solid Corian walls. We made an offer asking the seller to fix the shower but they were too busy so they gave us $3000 in credit to do it ourselves after we moved in. The realtor recommended a guy to do it. We bought all the supplies and the guy came and took down the walls and that was it. Everytime he promised to come, he never showed up, so the tiles, bags of grout and all other supplies sat in the master bedroom and bath for a year before we found somebody else to do it.
The ceiling was tiled and the light was replaced.
Here is the cracked wall.
We decided to just use a 12 x 12 tile all over, which matches our bathroom floor.
and decided to add a bench. The tile store merchant showed us this Italian mosaic tile and we loved it, bought it and had it put on the floor.
Isn't the floor pretty? Do you see the stainless steam outlet on the right wall? I must have used it only twice because it is really hot but dh uses it a lot.
I really should use it more.

We have a double shower. Here's one.
and here's the other
Here is our steam shower door. The little door above helps in releasing some steam when it gets too hot in there.Since we are in the bathroom, I might as well show you the rest of the room. This settee was in our hallway but I thought it was too big for it so I moved it in here. John likes it here. He gets to sit when he puts his shoes on.
It's also a nice place to sit when you want to talk to whoever is soaking in the jacuzzi tub.
a double sink
My favorite feature of this bathroom is this skylight. You can see the tree sway and hear the rain trickle while soaking in the tub.

Thanks for coming. Hope you enjoyed yet another metamorphosis. Now, let's all go visit Sally and Susan and I thank our 2 gracious hostesses.
