Throw Pillows and Jewelry Cases

Diane of http://diane1876.blogspot.com/ is the host of 2nd Time Around Tuesday. Thanks Diane, for taking the time to host this event. If you want to see more second time around treasures , go visit her blog. I know I will!
I would like to show you a pair of throw pillows that I bought for $7 each at an antique shop in Destin, FL. I have seen some pillows with bunnies on them in Blogland and I have been on a hunt for 1 or 2 since then. I was so happy when I finally found these. I like the thick woven material. Right now, I have them in my mom's bedroom, sitting separately on 2 chairs. I just placed them together for the picture.

It's also 3 or More time with our host, Tam of http://gypsycorner.blogspot.com/. Here's another blog that you don't wanna miss. Check out other participants' entries too!
I promised Janie of Blondie's Journal, that I will give her ideas on how to organize jewelry. Janie, I know it's been a while since I promised but I haven't forgotten. I took pictures of how I do mine and maybe you can get a tip or 2.

Below is a wall cabinet. It also doubles as a dressing mirror since I can see my whole self when I am in front of it.
This is what you see when opened.
I also have 2 body form organizers on top of the dresser and a jewel case.
In addition, I have this tray and an arm with fingers holding more jewelry. I did not show you but the top drawer of this dresser also hold more jewelry. I use organizers.
Wait, I am not done yet! LOL! I also have a jewelry armoire, which I moved to the bathroom when dh bought me my French purse armoire taking its place in the bedroom. When closed, I keep a tray with bath lotions and powders on it.
I just move the tray to the settee when I need to open it.
I organize the drawers further with rubberized ice trays. Each hole has the perfect size to hold rings, earrings and pendants. I think these are great for organizing. They are very inexpensive too.
I opened a few drawers for you to see. Here you will see a set of amber necklace and bracelet. I love amber. Come to think of it, I have never used these and I've had them for over a year.
Of course, I keep the better jewels in a safe.
I hope I was able to give you some ideas on how to organize. It's just so easy to tuck jewelry away in drawers and you never see them and then you do not even know what you have. Thanks for coming by and many thanks to Diane and Tam for these 2 fun memes.

Christine,

Your pillows are SO pretty!! They look good in your mom's room~are you going to keep them in there? Wow! $7.00!!

Thanks so much for remembering me with the jewelry organizing! I think I asked an expert!! You have given me some wonderful ideas, the biggest being keeping the necklaces from tangling and keeping the earrings together. The girls and I share all of our everyday things and they really know how to mess it all up. In a rush, I just don't have time to look or fiddle with chains and such. The ice cube tray trick is fantastic~I love the heart shaped tray!! Thanks again. And I absolutely love all of your pieces. What a beautiful collection. When I visit, you will have to let me have a peek~some things look like they have quite a history.

Next you will have to show me how you store the make~up. I was agonizing over THAT today!! LOL!

xoxo
Janie

On a good day I manage to remember to put on my wedding ring. I have other jewelery but I don't wear it. My watch battery died last November and I haven't had it replaced.
I am allergic to nickel so I don't have much costume jewelery. Even the hypo-allergenic still bothers me.
I do like to look at it though. Little pieces of art, and you are a creative lady.

I think it would be safe to say that you have lots of jewelry.
I just love the little wooden inlaid box.

Another great Destin find! And, what a wonderful system for organizing small pieces. I will use the tray idea.

I do that. I keep jewelry in a drawer and forget I have it. I seem to choose the same pair of earrings to wear every day.

I love the rubberized ice cube tray idea. That is so great!!! I hang all my necklaces on hooks. But they still get all tangled up. So I never wear my necklaces. I guess I need more hooks. Thanks for sharing all your storage ideas.

Wonderful organization idea here! Since we started renovating our house over a year ago, I don't even know where my jewelry is right now! Shows how often I wear it!

You must be meeting yourself with all these comings and goings!
Nice find on the bunny + others pillows. And all your jewelry holders keep everything so organized.
I have always wanted a jewelry armoire.

Happy Trails,

Neat pillows and it looks as if you LOVE jewelery! I also spy some Mah Jong tiles. Is that a bracelet? I used to play the game years ago with my Aunt.
