Guest Room for Grandkids Still Evolving

The holidays went by so quickly and now it's another year. For most of us, we like to redecorate during this time and I am no exception.

I would like to share what I have done. They are mostly blue so I would like to participate in Sally's meme, Blue Monday. For more blues, go visit her at http://smilingsally.blogspot.com/
I created some mosaics too so I am also linking with Mary at http://dearlittleredhouse.blogspot.com/ For more creative mosaics, go there.

And since I am posting changes, I would also like to join Susan at http://betweennapsontheporch.blogspot.com/. To see lots of amazing transformations, make sure you go there.

I have shown this change first last week but I am not done yet so I want to share a little progress. The top pic below is the "before" picture. It's the original decor since we moved in here from Florida almost 3 years ago. The bottom picture of the mosaic is what I did last week. The end tables have not been placed yet and no window valance was hung. And now, I have hung the blue and white toile valances I bought from Ebay. I also moved the end tables here from the living room. The tables were extra pieces in the living room and I don't know why I didn't think of moving them here to begin with.
I know I should put that porta crib away but I cannot figure out how to fold it. I haven't had practice for decades now, lol. So, I just added a yellow throw blanket to match.

I also ordered an area rug for this room but it has not arrived yet, so that might be my next transformation post. It's sorta ongoing, lol, just like everyting else in our house.

Just shown here are accessories I added on the end tables. Everything was just moved from other parts of the house. I do that a lot, do you?

Thanks for stopping by. I hope your new year is favorable so far. Thanks Sally and Susan!

Christine, it has come along so nicely. And, yes, I do move things around in my home because I want less stuff, not more. You did a wonderful job. I particularly like the use of different blue and yellow fabrics instead of all matching ones, so interesting!

Christine this is coming along so beautifully. I love the valance, it's really perfect. Such a pretty, sophisticated room for Miss AJ, she's growing up before our eyes! Kathy

It's looking very pretty. I like the tables you moved in for night stands, what a great idea . The cribs are hard to get down, it's almost a fight to the death sometimes. Have a great week and I love the header of the family/events of the last year!

The room looks awesome, Christine!! I LOVE toile and the yellow/blue combination! The side tables look so nice, too. Amazing what we can find in our homes. Has AJ seen pics of the room yet?? I am sure she will love it. I am thinking of doing one of the rooms at the lake in pale yellow. You are giving me some ideas! ;-)

We finally got home a little while ago. Funny, once we got away from Lk. Michigan, it all cleared up. What a difference. I do not want to see snow for awhile!! lol!!

Hey Christine,
I'm lovin' those finishing touches you added to your guest room... with your blue and white valance from ebay...the accessories from the other rooms...it's all perfect with the french toile...you have the prettiest antiques.
Oh and by the way.....you know me, I move things around from room to room when the notion strikes me too! LOL! I think everyone in blogland has been making some sort of changes around the house...it keeps things interesting and fun...doesn't it?! New year and new look. I got some new throw pillows for the sofa and lovesea, and also some new seat cushions for my barstools in the kitchen. Still need to show those on my blog though. I will one of these days soon.

The family pics are so pretty on the cruise...I think AJ is very photogenic, she's just like "you"!
Beautiful pics aboard the cruise...I enjoyed seeing all of them!
Hope you have a wonderful day!
Big Hugs,
Queenie

Christine, I want to come stay in the grandchildren's room! It looks so pretty, and of course, I love the toile valances. I also love the blue and yellow color scheme and the pretty tables and accessories. Yep! I could be very happy staying in this room. (That's so funny - I have a porta crib in our bedroom right now and can't figure out how to fold it up. I'm waiting on my son to come do it!) laurie
