I am joining Laura @ House of Thrifty Decor for the first time and I am excited about that. Please visit her at http://houseofthriftydecor.blogspot.com/ & her participants to see some great projects. I know I will!

Thanks for inviting me, Laura!

Monday is another one of my favorite days, not so when I was still working, lol. But I like Mondays now for the fun memes going on around Blogland. I am linking with

Sally for Blue Monday at http://smilingsally.blogspot.com/

Susan for Metamorphosis Monday at http://betweennapsontheporch.blogspot.com/

Mellow Yellow Monday at http://mellowyellowmonday.blogspot.com/

Mary for Mosaic Monday at http://dearlittleredhouse.blogspot.com/

Deebie for Debbiedoos B+A Party at http://debbie-debbiedoos.blogspot.com/

I changed our guest room for adults around a bit. Below are 2 "Before" pictures. Across the hall from this bedroom is the guestroom for the grandchildren and in between them to the right is a guest bathroom.

See that leather chair there? It has an ottoman sitting on its left that you cannot see in this picture. I moved it to my mom's bedroom since I sold the 2 plaid chairs and ottomans that were in her bedroom.

The right lamp on the right side table has been sold in the store.

As you can see, there is a bench at the foot of the bed. That has been moved.

This is "Now". I placed the newly acquired antique chair in front of the bed and moved the wooden chest next to it. It used to sit in front of the window. I placed a bamboo tray with a topiary, a tea set and a candle holder that looks like a mini lamp, just to dress up the tray a bit.

I won the 2 oval mirrors hanging on either side of the bed in an estate auction and I bought the sunburst mirror in an antique shop downtown.

I changed the beddings before summer to a lighter colored quilt. Sometimes I layer a folded throw at the foot but I like it just like this for now, it's light and airy.

Between 2 windows is a computer armoire. As you can see, the armoire opens into a desk. It even has a pull out built in chair. I keep an extra laptop in there for guests to use.

These are what's sitting on top of the armoire. This cabinet top is actually a catch all of what I don't use when I create vignettes in other parts of the house.

A bamboo luggage rack is standing right next to the computer armoire by the window. I placed some English decorating magazines, a vase with faux daisies and a pot on it right now but I will move them before guests arrive.

Again, these are what replaced the bench. The chest used to sit in front of the window.

That is where the bench went, on the left wall as you enter the room. I won the black Victorian hat from Candy.

The framed photo hanging on the wall is a family picture with hubby's children and grandchildren. Before the end of the year, we are going on a cruise with my side of the family and so we will take a family picture then. I already have a matching frame to use. Then. I will probably sell that gold Asian frame on the left in the store.

A closer view of the bench.

That cabinet in the corner by the door holds my scrapbooks and photo albums.

I am thinking of selling the 2 celadon Asian vases but I am still thinking about it. I have 2 of them, one sitting on each side table. "To sell or not to sell" has always been in my thoughts lately:-)

I bought the pretty cherub lamp from Vanna of lvroftiques. Vanna, where are you? We miss you!

The other side table. This parrot lamp took the place of the red Asian one. I like this better here because the size balances the other lamp on the other side table.

Hmmm, I almost forgot all about this painting. It is behind the door and I saw it when I closed the door to take a picture. I did not move it cause I have no other place to put it right now. Anyway, I think the color blends right in.

Hope you like the changes as I do. I think it looks more spacious now and less cluttered . It's funny how this rearranging came about. I was planning to sell the rug so I took the furniture out so I can vacuum it well, in preparation of rolling it to take to the store. But after I cleaned it and tried the antique chair on it, I liked it and decided not to sell.

Well, thanks for coming by and thanks to our gracious hostesses for taking their time to host these events. Don't forget to visit them too!

What a gorgeous room Christine, filled with gorgeous treasures. I think Kim has the same mirror over her bed, except she recently painted hers. My party will be this week, stay tuned.

"I keep a lap top there for guests" Holy crow, I don't even have a lap top!
Is that where Jane stayed? Lucky guests, it is beautiful! Too funny about the rug, but you got a good start on Fall cleaning!
Gorgeous pieces you have Christine, like I said, enough stock for the store for a year!
How about Christmas? Are you going to sell your extra decorations?? I could get rid of a ton of mine!

It is as if you are playing with a doll house. You can move things around, get rid of some...bring in new and shift them again. How fun. I love what you did at the foot of the bed.
