A Rooster Brunch

My friend Debjani and I wanted to do something together. But it was cold outside so I suggested for her to just come over and we can make jewelry and then do karaoke afterwards. I told her I will prepare brunch.

And so did I! I made a veggie egg casserole, Belgian waffles and served some cheese buns and hard boiled eggs.

I would like to link with Leigh for Thrifty Thursday at http://lbratina.blogspot.com/

Susan for Tablescape Thursday at
http://betweennapsontheporch.blogspot.com/

Michael aka Gollum, for Foodie Friday at http://www.designsbygollum.blogspot.com/

and Linda for Junkin Finds at http://ljm-alacarte.blogspot.com/

Be sure you visit these lovely and creative ladies for some inspiration and wonderful table ideas.

I already had the rooster tablecloth on the table so I just decided to add my rooster plates and accessories. See the cabinet on the wal? I bought it from Nancy (Nancy's Dish) and I love it but I did not get done filling it with dishes. I wanted to install lights in it but the lights that I like have to be ordered.

We bought the candle holder from Cozumel, Mexico.
Teapot set is by Fitz and Floyd. Love the bird finials. I am still looking for a creamer to complete the set so if anyone finds one, please let me know. I bought whatever I found available at TJ Maxx but they had no creamer.

The waffles were so good. I used Krusteaz mix which I brought from Florida because I cannot find it anywhere here. I think it is the best mix. I have a commercial Kitchen aide waffle maker similar to the ones they use in hotels but mine makes 2 waffles at the same time. I love it! I should have taken a picture but I forgot.

I thought this chicken wire basket should qualify for Thrifty Thursday. I bought it from a consignment shop for $8. It's sturdy and well made.

Do you see the white hen egg holder? The little chick in front of it is a salt shaker. Isn't it cute? This should qualify for thrifty too. I think I bought it for $3.99 from Ross. It holds 5 eggs.

John even surprised us and came home for lunch. He must have smelled the food, lol.

Vanna, do you recognize the sugar shaker? I bought it from the antique shop in Seattle when were shopping. It has a silver top but I cannot remember how much I paid for it. Not much or I would not have bought it.

And yes, we made jewelry afterwards and even got to sing for a short while. I made this pearl bracelet for my sister.

to match this necklace that I made and already sent to her. I thought it would be nice for her to have a matching bracelet too.

Thank you all for your visits and thanks to our gracious hostesses, Susan, Leigh, Michael and Linda.

I really love that teapot and set. Hope you DO find the creamer. I'll keep my eye out while I'm on "the hunt" for more kitchen things.

And I love the candle holder too.

You two have the best time! And how beautiful is that brunch!! Christine you really are the QUEEN of the table! And it's not just a pretty picture either (which it is) it's totally functioning. So many times I see tablescapes that aren't at all realistic for an actual meal kwim? Just a bunch of impressive china stacked up. I DID recognize that shaker! Saw it and loved it right off! I think you paid something like $8? I remember it was a good price. Also I now know what I can send YOU! Got lots of Kursteaz here! *winks* Vanna
