Warm Room Getting Warmer and Natural Rocks

John and I went to church yesterday so we did not have to go this morning. I had some time in my hands and I started changing the colors in the family room with fall colors. Our fall decorations made it down from the attic to the garage (thanks to good ole' Mitch!) but not quite inside the house yet, so no pumpkins yet.
I started with switching the pillows.

Notice there's only one pillow on the recliners? Nope, I did not run out of pillows, but John does not use them but I want mine when watching TV.
I am in love with the oil painting that I did 5 years ago so I never take it down, lol.

Notice the glass display case on the coffee table?

The coffee table has drawers on both sides and that's where I keep my sets of flatware, at least whatever fits. I have at least 18 sets in there.
I will show you what's in the display case later.

John and I like natural rocks and stones (I like precious ones too like diamonds and tanzanites but I don't display them, lol) and agates so we collect them and we keep smaller ones here in the display case.

Natural salt lamp on John's side table.
I have bigger ones displayed on the book shelves in the hallway.

An onyx egg. John collects eggs too and do you see the agate bookend on the right?
This is a Labradorite. John bought it during a jewelry convention here. It's big and heavy. I tried to discourage him at first from buying it because I thought it was too expensive but he really likes the sheen and how it changes color.
Ooops, my Pooh plate is not standing right. My son Jed gave it to me a long, long time ago.

In the home office below is an onyx compote with coins that has presidents head etched on them. To the right is an amethyst quartz.

My nightlight on my night table in the bedroom is amethyst too. I like purple, I also like blue, yellow and green and orange.
Here is the other side of the room. It is all windows overlooking the pool.

That is all I can gather for now. Thanks for stopping by. I hope you are enjoying this cooler weather, at least at night anyway. Thank you also to the hostesses.

Still too hot here to think about fall, but it
looks like you are ready for a change of seasons. I know you will have fun decorating.

A very warm/comfortable room. What a pretty collection of stones and rocks - thanks for sharing your collection with us.
Still Summer temps here, so Fall decor is on the back burner. :)

Hi Christine,

Your room reminds me so much of our den because we have paneling, bookshelves, and a leather chair and ottoman. I think our room has a warm and cozy feel, especially in fall and winter, and yours has the same feel.

Your stones are so interesting and unusual. I really love amethyst, too; I love the color and it was also my grandfather's birthstone. It looks like you're having fun decorating your room. :) I'm getting ready to start with fall decor, too.

Visiting from Amaze Me Monday; have a lovely week!

What a beautiful, warm and cozy room Christine!
And wow, you have some amazing and interesting collections.
We are supposed to be near 100 degrees today. In Wisconsin, in September, that hardly ever happens.
Hugs friend,
Cindy

Christine - you home is so full of "eye candy"! Now, that I know you are a painter, I can understand how you plan such beautiful tablescapes! Love your "rock" - we have collected them for years, but I gave some away and the others are in a box somewhere. Thanks for sharing this - what fun!

I love the masculine with feminine touch you did in your family room. Nice to bring me along with you in your gorgeous home, Ate. Feels I am with you now and giggling (never ending tsismis) of all things and end up to nothing, as GH said when he asked me what did I talked to my family and friends for ages.
Pero, I said, wala--- yon lang? He he… tayo nga naman.

Enjoy the rest of the a blesse week.

Guys think pillows are for throwing. It is not their thing.

I would love to see the oil painting you did a little closer up. It looks wonderful! I so enjoyed seeing the rocks. I would love to have a large amethyst. My grandmother had a really large one that I always admired as a child. Your home is beautiful!
