2nd Fall Table using Transferware Plates, 2017

Hello everyone! I hope you are enjoying this cooler Fall weather. It's still pretty warm here in Florida but it gets a little cooler after a rain.

 Although I am still pretty busy cleaning up after the hurricane, I made time to create my second Fall tablescape. This time I decided to use brown transferware for the plates.

The table cloth is by April Cornell.

For the dinner plates, I used Johnson Bros, Historic America series in "Massachusettes" pattern.

For the salad plates, I mixed and matched them, 4 are from the Historic America series, 2 Royal Staffordshire bowls and 2 acorn shaped plates.

I picked some santan flowers (also known as ixora) from our garden to use as part of my centerpiece. I surrounded the vase with chicken S & P shakers, some votive candle holders and a squirrel.

The napkin rings used are a wooden brown acorn and 2 green ceramic veggies, an asparagus and an artichoke alternating one another.

I bought the square beaded placemats from a thrift shop in Utah.

The bone flatware are from Horchow.

A pineapple S& P shakers given to me by my stepdaughter.

The whole house is decorated for Fall too. I just want to show you a few pictures.

For tea, I took out the brown transferware tea set to blend with the dinnerware. I dug out my lighted amber tree from the garage. I bought it from Kirkland's many years ago when we still lived in Natchez, MS.

Featuring Liberty Blue and Flower Blossoms

I was not sure I could participate with the tablescape memes this week because I am overwhelmed with things to do at home. I was away for over a month and just got back the other night. You can imagine how the house looks after leaving the hubby all that time. Yep! The house looked like Ground Zero, well not exactly but pretty close, lol.

 

But a package greeted me at home, the flower Blossoms kit I won from Sarah of http://hyacinthforthesoul.blogspot.com/ and I was so excited to use the flower blossoms for my centerpiece so I just had a create a table.

 

 

Thank you so much, Sarah. I love everything that came in the package, so unique! I will have so much fun using these.

 I opened the book and was so surprised to see all these beauties. Please visit Sarah's blog and see how she used hers, which was the first time I have seen these paper blossoms. Aren't they pretty cool?

The paper blossom set of cards also came with the package. I might not be able to give these away though, lol. They are just too pretty.

Sarah also posted about Staffordshire's Liberty Blue dishes, which reminded me of mine so I dug them out from storage and used  them with the paper blossom centerpiece. As you can see, this post was all inspired by Sarah! It is also timely since the dishes would be appropriate to use for Independence Day, which is approaching soon. I also pulled out my vintage blue glass salt and pepper shakers.

The blue wine glasses are from Mikasa and the bubble glass with blue and white stems are part of my Polish pottery collection.

I like to use my pewter flatware when creating an Americana table. It makes me go back to the federal period.

 I complemented the paper blossoms with 2 terracotta colored tin pots with silk flowers. The place mats are Spode's Blue Italian.

You can see the small bowl on top with Betsy Ross and the American flag. The dinner plate features the Independence Hall and the dessert plate shows the Old North Church. I thought I had salad plates and cups too but they could be in another box, because the box where I took these from was already full.

The ceramic blue rose napkin rings are by Royal Albert.

I leaned a flag by the window and added a red, white and blue candle on the table to be more patriotic.

Isn't the paper dragon fly so cute?

It's Global and a $50 Novica Giveway

It all started when I received an email from Ricky of http://www.novica.com/
He offered me to review one of their products and I could select anything for $100 or I could have the option to review a product for $50 and share the $50 to one of my readers. I chose the latter, to share with my readers, as an appreciation for your faithful visits.

Novica, with their association with National Geographic, has many beautiful accessories both for men and women and also for the home, exotic and exquisite works made by master artisans from Asia, Africa and Latin America. You will enjoy browsing through their products. I have known about them for years when I was searching for something I could hang below a hall mirror, in lieu of a table. Of course, I was successful in finding it there. You will see the product at the end of this post.

So, for this tablescape, my inspiration is global.

Being an avid tablescaper, I picked a set of 6 Mexican hand blown wine glasses created by Javier and Efren from Novica. Boy! Did I have fun shopping!
These hand made glasses are just gorgeous! I love the cobalt blue rims and the natural bubbly thick glass.

They are perfect, paired with my other hand blown set of margarita glasses. They also came so nicely and carefully packed, no chance of breakage at all.

My tablescape consists of a multicolored, but mostly blue and yellow, runner from Roatan, Honduras, Italian Meridiana "Ceramiche" plates and bowls, blue and yellow French toile placemats, Mexican glasses and Italian pottery jars.

Nothing here is new except for the Mexican hand blown glasses from Novica. Oh and also the 2 gold plated roses that John gave me for our anniversary. The third one was also given by him last Valentine's day. Everything else was just gathered from around the house.

I love the shape of these Italian dishes. They are like a wavy square or maybe a trapezoid. I bought the blue flatware from Neiman Marcus a while back when they were on sale. I also have them in black that I bought from Marshalls and TJ Maxx and another red set from Neiman Marcus. Do you think I like them that much? Yes, I do! I like the Frenchy pewter like things on their handles.

The white off shaped square ceramic plate chargers are made in Portugal. I say off shaped because if you hadn't noticed, two sides are pointed but the 2 opposite sides are rounded. I have had them for a while but this is the first time I got to use them.

Nothing says Italian more than olives so I added my mini olive tree (It's live!) and some olives in a matching small bowl. No, they were not picked from this tree, lol.

Food will have to be served because there is no place for food here. These jars are huge, but they make a statement, don't they?

Oh my mistake. I have something else new. We just bought these small potted rosemarie placecard holders from Pottery barn, during our visit to Charleston, SC this past weekend. They were on sale for a little over $3 each. I thought they would be perfect for a garden setting too.

I used some Mexican hand blown taper candle holders too, that I bought from Goodwill several months ago. they were really cheap, maybe $3 for the pair.

I added my Italian chef salt and pepper shaker. His body separates into 2. The bottom part is the pepper shaker and the top, the salt, and little blue Polish Pottery dishes for a dipping sauce.

It's an elephant trunk shelf that is hung on the wall. I needed something for this wall but I did not want a table because the hall is narrow and anything on the floor will be in the way, so this shelf was the perfect solution for the space. This hallway is all the way in the back of the house separating 2 guest rooms and a guest bathroom.
