2 crock Bisquit Jars and 3 Or More Tureens

While I am waiting for the rice to cook, I thought I'd upload pics and join 2nd Time Around Tues., hosted by Diane at http://diane1876.blogspot.com/ and 3 or More Tuesday, which is hosted by Tam at http://gypsycorner.blogspot.com/. Please visit these 2 energetic ladies and check out their posts and the posts of their lists of participants.

Thanks, Diane and Tam for taking the time to hosts these 2 wonderful events.

Last Saturday, John and I were on our way to eat lunch at a Thai Restaurant downtown. The antique shop right next to the restaurant was having a sidewalk sale. Naturally, we stopped there first. We saw 2 trellises with Mandevalia growing inside them. After accepting our offer for a discount if we bought both of them, we went inside the store to pay. Then I saw this vase with a Magnolia.
But I saw this first and I called John to take a look. I told him I like it and the price was marked down from $575 to $450. Luckily the owner was there and said she will give me a better deal if I want it. She gave it to me for $400 so we bought it. I'll show you what I will do with it in another post. It hasn't been delivered yet. The vase above was marked $25 and the owner was willing to give me a $10 discount. I told her that I would rather the price was $10 and not the discount. She gave it to me at that price since we bought the armoire. I like the arched glass of the armoire and it has 1 drawer at the bottom.
And we also bought the following 2 vintage bisquit jars for $10 each. The paint is a little messed up but I can fix them easily.

John commented "and we just came here to eat lunch!" LOL!

It is also 3 or More Tuesday. You probably know how obssessed I am with plates. Well, I am also obssessed with soup tureens and servers. And I am showing you a few of my collection below.
I store them on top of my kitchen cabinets since they are too bulky and they take too much space inside cabinets. After all, I need to leave room for my plates.
I think they are self explanatory so I won't even describe them. John is calling me to watch a dvd (24) with him. I hope you enjoy the pictures and I would like to thank Tam and Diane again for hosting and you all for visiting.

25 Years Later

Metamorphosis Monday is brought to you by Susan of http://betweennapsontheporch.blogspot.com/ For today, I will try something different. Instead of showing you how I changed a room at home, I will show you how me and my classmates from College have changed in 25 years.
Below you will see a picture of me and my 2 classmates from College, Gatchie and Elsie. We were bridesmaids at another classmate, Lyla's wedding.
25 years later, Lyla contacted all of us because she and her hubby were renewing their wedding vows and will have a ceremony and they wanted all the original wedding attendants to be in the wedding rites again. Naturally, we all gladly obliged. She told us to just wear any pink outfits (Hmmm, I should have thought about this for Pink Saturday:-)) And here we are, the 3 bridesmaids, except now I am in the center and yes, 25 years older.
This is the picture of the original wedding entourage. Can you spot me?
And this is a picture when vows were renewed. It was so much fun trying to figure out who is who. The biggest apparent change, of course, were the flower girl and ring bearer since 25 years later, they were grown up and were already married. They are not in this picture.
I hope you enjoyed how we aged. I am not sure I did. LOL!
Thanks Susan, for hosting MM!

Double Celebration, 100th Post, Free Give Away!

100! Don't you just love that number? It was my favorite number when I was still in school when we had tests. Today, it's a number that represents a milestone on my blogging. I can't believe it is already my hundredth post when I only started blogging last January 21st of this year. Had I only known it was this much fun, I would have blogged a lot sooner. And do you know why I enjoy it so much? It's because I have met so many of you wonderful people. To help me celebrate my 100th post, I would like to offer a giveaway. Leave a comment on this post and you get an entry for each one. Post one of your tours or sightseeing with me, I will give you another 3 entries, or on second thought, let's make that 5! That's right! 5 additional entries if you join me in posting for Sightseeing Saturday. Do you think I am trying to encourage you? LOL! I will draw the winner and announce it on my next Saturday's post. The winner gets the ff: a tablecloth for a table for 6 with 6 matching napkins that I bought from Grand Cayman, a set of 4 black ruffly placemats, a set of 4 ceramic teapot napkin rings, a religious icon from Tallinn, Estonia, a blue and white ceramic box, crocheted and vintage linen doilies, a souvenir pen and Matryoshka nesting dolls from Russia
Do you know why I called this post a double celebration? I am also celebrating because I found the pictures I took when we visited Paris. I have looked in the 2 computers that I always use and 2 external back up hard drives for months and could not find them until this morning. I found them in my HP laptop that I have not used for a while. Yipee! I was so happy when I found them and I am sharing them with you for Sightseeing Saturday. So far,
Chandy of http://whatnowtablescapes.blogspot.com/
Lorna of http://laceandivycottage.blogspot.com/
MoziEsmé of http://moziesme.blogspot.com/2009/06/scotland-sightseeing.html
are participating. Their posts should be ready anytime so please do not fail to visit them. If anybody else wants to join, please send me a comment and I will add your link too . Yipee , they get 5 more entries for the giveaway!

I will just show you mostly pictures because I was so in awe of the beauty of everything I saw in Paris that I could not concentrate listening to the tour guide. I could not even decide if I would look left or right because all the buildings and sceneries were just amazing.
Look at all the flowers in the windows.
Everywhere you look is gorgeous!

Arc de Triomphe
Louvre Museum, home of the Mona Lisa painting.

Napoleon's Burial Site

Now, let's have lunch and champagne while we cruise on the River Seine.
There's John and AJ enjoying the food and the cruise.

Just sit with us and enjoy the breathtaking view.
Notre Dame
Isn't the architecture gorgeous?
Notre Dame Cathedral
Aaaah! This is what I call LG! Life is good!

I don't know why but I love all the bridges and there were several!

AJ and the famous Eiffel Tower in the background. I didn't realize how huge it really is until I was right there.
I love this picture! I like seeing the Statue of Liberty with the Eiffel Tower but I wish the Statue of Liberty was bigger. But we can't complain, after all, it is a French country.
You will be smiling like this too if you were there!

Hmmm, that was a lot of fun seeing Paris again. I would really like to go back and stay a little longer to browse through their antique shops. I LOVE French antique furniture.
I hope you enjoyed the tour as I have! Please join me again next Sat. for another tour!
For my Pink Saturday, I would like to show you this little egg shaped compote. I told you we collect eggs. It has pink roses so that qualifies it, right? Beverly of http://howsweetthesound.typepad.com/my_weblog/ is our gracious hostess for Pink Saturday, of which year's anniversary was just celebrated last week.
The compote is made in Germany by Dresden. As you can see, it has a chariot pulled by 2 swans, which is maneuvered by a cherub and there is a cherub on each handle.

Thank you so much for helping me celebrate my 100th post. Keep those comments coming cause I want you all to have a lot of chances in winning.

Thanks Beverly, for another fun Pink Saturday!

Favorite Photo Friday and 100th Post Giveaway Reminder

This is my first time participating in Favorite Family Fotos Friday, which is hosted by Deborah of http://picturespotspens.blogspot.com/. Go visit Deborah and join the fun!

These are not refugees, they are my kids and their first cousins when they were small. LOL! My kids are the 3 smallest ones on the right right side. Too bad Tina's pic is cut off.
This picture was taken in Tampa, FL of my granddaugher AJ, when she was about 4 years old(her mom is the second from the right above), with her cousins (their mom is the 4th from the right above) who were visiting from Chicago then. These are the same kids who stayed with us for 2-3 weeks over summer vacation last year and kept us hopping. Of course they are a little older now. AJ is 10 now.
I would like to remind you that my post, Sightseeing Saturday, tomorrow will mark my 100th post. And to celebrate it, I am offering a giveaway. If you are interested, please try your luck on the giveaway. I took pictures so take a look! The picture does not show the black ruffly placemats very well but if you click it, you will see it better.
The package includes:

a tablecloth that I bought from Grand Cayman. It fits a table for 6 and it also includes 6 matching napkins.

a religious icon I bought from Estonia

a set of 4 ceramic teapot napkin holders
a set of 4 black ruffly palcemats

Vintage crocheted and linen doilies (they are not new, they were thrown in with some items I won on an antique auction)

a souvenir pen (I think I got it from Russia)

a set of matrushka nesting dolls from Russia

a blue and white ceramic box
Every comment that you leave on my Sat. post will give you 1 entry.

If you will participate for tomorrow's Sighteeing Saturday, I will add 3 more entries for you. Just let me know in a comment if you intend to do that.
Thanks and good luck! See you tomorrow!!

Good luck!
